Days 1-4

Ajman

The city is up first, but this one gives a little more nature than its famous neighbours. It sits right by the Al Zorah Nature Reserve, a favourite flamingo hangout and heaven for bird watchers. The beaches are stretching and relatively uncrowded and there’s a bit of history as well – check out the Ajman Museum which is inside a fort built in the 1700s to house Ajman’s rulers. There’s also a lively fish market and a shaded souk where you can haggle for some traditional tailored pieces.

Days 5-7

Arabian Desert

It’s time to head inland for some five-star desert adventures in the private nature reserve of Wadi Khadeja over in Ras al Khaimah. There’s plenty to do here between mouthwatering meals and restorative sleeps in all-pool villas; you’ve got yoga surrounded by the sand, spa days, star gazing, bird watching and desert explorations.
