The hotel matched our expectations perfectly. Perfect location, felt like we stayed in the nationalpark. The food was really good, and the breakfast was with a good varity of both interkontinentale and Sri lankan food. the room was also perfect! A small minus was all the reviews we had to give at checkout... Else - aboslutely reccoment this place!
Cinnamon wild yala
The most amazing holiday we have ever had. So much wildlife everyday. We saw a leopard drinking on the way down the long drive to the hotel and we saw another 2 leopards in yala national parks as well as every other animal you can think of. Accommodation was amazing, staff attentive and food was great. Highly recommended
Great hotel surrounded by nature
We loved staying at cinnamon wild yala. We opted for a beach chalet and loved it! you can hear the waves crashing from your room which is amazing! There is so much wildlife, at night you hear elephants and boar roaming. The staff is extremely professional and very eager to help. We wanted to do the private dinner near the lake, but it was raining and we unfortunately we couldn't. However, they set up the entire dinner, cooking station and all on our porch. It was phenomenal!!! I cant recommend this hotel enough. Truly something special.
We booked here so we could go on a safari... but the hotel is outstanding happy friendly staff. ( we have found Sri Lankan’s to be this way but this and another hotel we have found them to be more so .. like they genuinely love their job) This is the first place where they have supplied plenty of water. The experience of being close to wild life is amazing even the occasional little critter around the unit! Pool is great too This place definitely a high light for us
it's a good hotel but I feel that it loses a couple of points for its setting. Large sand dunes act like a wall between the property and the ocean and create a windless and humid environment. You can tell the difference when you visit nearby properties such as Laya which is right on the beach and feels cool and fresh. I first stayed at Cinnamon Wild Yala in 2005 when it was called Yala Village and had the same complaint: breathless and hot. The only other hotel this close to the park entrance was the Jetwing Yala Safari Game Lodge which was destroyed by the Tsunami. There's much more competition these days with a new (not very nice) Jetwing hotel and some very expensive tented camps.
