We have spent many wonderful holidays in hotel Princesa Yaiza. This year we had also booked a holiday, but the hotel was closed due to the corona virus. The holiday was canceled. We were told that the hotel does not have sufficient funds to refund our payment for the time being. Too bad this can happen in a 5 * L hotel.
Absolutely worth it
We stayed for 2 week and from the first day to when we arrived back home we kept saying to each other how amazing the hotel was and how we were so happy that we decided to go with this hotel instead of our other slightly cheaper option. Firstly, the hotel is beautiful. The tropical plants and palm trees made me feel like im in a jungle and i was so happy walking to and from the buffet or the pool everyday. The staff are so kind and friendly, the service is amazing. They make you feel welcome and truly help you out with anything you may need! The room was large (we had a free upgrade!) and spotlessly clean! The buffet.... honestly, so delicious! The variety is great so you don’t get sick of the food even on the 14th day. For breakfast, you have an amazing spread of Jamons, fruit, pastries, sausages and an egg station for fried, poached or omelettes, fresh squeezed orange juice. At dinner they have fresh Montaditos and other appetizers and a grill station with fresh fish, meats and veggies a la plancha! Oh and the canarian potatoes are really good! Serious sidenote— we even noticed how strong and healthy our nails and hair became...Of course a stressfree vacation really helps but we ate and slept so well that we were visibly seeing healthy changes in our body...incredible. They even offer activities and sports classes which are amazing! The teacher Malu was so energetic, kind and outgoing!! She really explains Each move well and helps correct your form. Stretching, yoga, tai chi, pilates and aqua gym/dance classes! We were sad we didn’t get to do as many of them as we liked but she is such a great instructor!! Also would like to mention the Live performances in the evenings at the bar. We really appreciated the talents and entertainment. Also the fact that the hotel continues to keep all these artists despite corona and reduction of guests and helping to keep jobs afloat was really awesome! In ref to the corona crisis, the hotel kept up their hygiene rules and disinfected everything regularly — After guests left a table, all tongs were exchanged regularly during meal times and hand sanitizers provided always and everywhere you went. All staff had masks on and were super professional. We are so sad to be back, it truly felt like living in paradise and we cannot be any happier with our experience. Still imagining we are back at the pool or stepping out the hotel right onto the beach! Also missing the food and even the staff so much. Just want to thank the staff especially for their hard work and for keeping up an excellent standard in service and quality in the midst of the pandemic. From the receptionists, doormen, housecleaning staff, cleaning staff, cooks, buffet staff, managers, PR staff. They truly go above and beyond and we really appreciated it. Muchas gracias!!!!
We Loved this hotel had an amazing peaceful holiday here . The location is perfect. The rooms are beautiful. Amazing pools. Very clean and very well maintained. Staff are also very polite and welcoming. Will come back again.
Great family friendly place
The hotel is lovely with a great location close to the beach and is in walking distance of many shops and places to eat out. Having visited in August it´s shocking to see the impact of COVID and how empty the hotel was. The cases of COVID are very low in the islands and with all the measures put in place by the hotel any risk is very minimum. We were impressed by the services open in the hotel given the low occupancy, but it was a shame our children could stay in Kikoland without us as they are under 6. The hotel is really best suited to families, but I would have been equally happy staying there as a couple.
Hotel best suited to families with kids
This hotel is simply beautiful, with a design of great taste and ingeniousness, perfectly adapted to the local weather. The location is also excellent, easy walking distance to Playa Blanca "downtown" and to the marina, on a lovely beach and promenade. Unfortunately for us (as a couple seeking some tranquility) it's not the perfect hotel because it is very much focused on families with kids. Given the lower occupancy rate, this year it was not nearly as bad as last year (this was our second visit) when the pools were full of all sorts of inflatables and screaming kids. Still, also this year signs stating that inflatables are not permitted were ignored by guests and staff in both of the main pools, especially the upper one (note that several other pools devoted exclusively to children are available). We were staying in a suite which, while nice like the whole hotel, was situated right above "Kikkoland", with screams and ridiculously loud music that forced us not to use the balcony and keep the window shut. The sea view was also a bit limited by trees and the balconies of all other suites further along the corridor. While I appreciate all the good work done by management and staff, preferences are subjective and for my short holidays I like to take a break of tranquility and have access to an adult-only pool, as well as having a reasonably quiet room. The highest star rating, and the consequent high price, means in my opinion that the hotel provides that special feeling of perfect well-being. Personally I did not experience this in spite of all other positives which attracted me to this hotel for a second, and probably last, time.
