Perfect long weekend in Menorca. About 25 mins from the airport. Friendly, very clean hotel with an excellent swimming pool albeit not good for children as deep. Very clean beach with sun beds literally on the doorstep. Immaculate bedroom but wouldn’t it be good to have easy access to an ice machine? Great buffet breakfast with every imaginable food. Hotel parking is €20 a day but there is easy free parking very close by. Would definitely go back and recommend. One complaint though. The hotel needs better lighting at the access to/ from the beach in the evening. Too dark.
An amazing hotel
My husband and I can only thank everyone working at the melia hotel for making our holiday yet again special. We love coming here. The hotel is right by the beach and the views are incredible. The food is excellent and the staff are so professional and always make us so welcome. The level is well worth paying extra for. It has its own swimming pool and you can help yourself to non alcoholic drinks through the day using its private lounge. Between 5.30pm and 6.30pm alcoholic drinks or non alcoholic drinks and appetisers are set out in the small lounge for level guests to help themselves and it’s a lovely way of meeting people. I cannot speak more highly of this friendly hotel where staff work very professionally to make sure guests have a lovely holiday.
Fabulous views, with excellent staff in both Hotel and Restaurant
We had a fabulous week here at the end of September staff are friendly and very helpful service was first class with a tremendous selection of meals in the restaraunt all of which were freshly cooked. All rooms have fantastic views over the bay with sunset somethng you have to witness. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel for a lovely peaceful holiday
Stunning views, lovely hotel
We booked this very last minute (3 days before arriving) via the Melia website and bagged quite a bargain, securing one of the rooms in The Level. I think we got such a good deal due to it being end of season and the hotel shortly closing for winter. Our welcome was friendly and the porter checked our names on our luggage and then took us to the separate reception area for The Level. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. The room we had on the 9th floor was lovely, and we were welcomed to the room with a bottle of cava and chocolates which was very nice. The best thing about the room was the stunning view of the bay (photo attached). It’s just breathtaking . The next best thing was the balcony, which in this room was more of a terrace. It was huge, with two sun loungers, a parasol, two chairs and a big circular cushioned chair. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern with a good rain shower and nice products. The water in the toilet seemed to be constantly running which I found a bit distracting when in the bedroom, but couldn’t hear when the door was closed. The room was well equipped with a coffee machine, kettle and drinks facilities but we didn’t use any of them. The aircon didn’t seem to be very effective. We had it on a low temperature as the room often felt a bit stuffy, but it never seemed to really cool down. Breakfast at The Level provides a decent choice. There’s a self-service area for cereals, breads, pastries, fruits, cheeses and yoghurts, and then a table service for cooked to order items such as omelettes, pancakes and waffles. On our first morning this all seemed a bit confused. Nobody really greeted us as we arrived and the staff seemed to be fawning over a large group of people leaving us to figure everything out ourselves. On day two and beyond this changed and the breakfast staff were very attentive. The infinity pool is lovely and tranquil and provides alternative views of the stunning bay. We didn’t go to the main pool area much, only to see what it was like. Cocktail hour at 5pm in The Level bar is a nice and unexpected touch with a great selection of alcoholic drinks on offer, including wines, beers and spirits. I was surprised how it was self service on everything, meaning some guests took very large measures of spirits! But if the hotel don’t mind then it’s nothing to do with me. The snacks on offer were also good, fresh and not the typical bar snacks of nuts and crisps - it was prepared by the chef and things like croquettes, cheese, smoked salmon, and sweet things like brownies and cakes. Lunch at Cape Nao was very good - the club sandwich is delicious. And we had dinner one night at the restaurant in The Level and that was good too. We chose to do bed and breakfast only so we could sample the choice of restaurants in Cala Galdana but now regret that. The local restaurants weren’t very good and all seemed to offer the same things (and mostly not great quality), so having had a couple of meals in the hotel I now wish we’d had all our meals there because the standard was much higher there than in the likes of El Mirador and Fuente De Trevi. We used the gym a few times and for the relatively small sized room it’s in, its well equipped with treadmills, bikes, rowing machines and plenty of weights. They even provide sweat towels. All in all, we had a very enjoyable time here and would definitely return.
We had a short weekend break , it was everything we had hoped for. The hotel was well located, comfortable and of a very high standard. the staff were pleasant and very helpful. The food selection in the mornings was excellent. The beach is beautiful. I would definitely visit again.
