Lovely enjoyable holiday - felt very safe with covid precautions
This was our 4th visit to the hotel and we had an enjoyable experience. The hotel has taken the covid safety precautions very seriously but it didn't impact our enjoyment. We had to wear masks in all public places, but once settled at the pool, beach, restaurant, we didn't have to wear them except for going up to get food at the buffets. There is also plenty of hand sanitiser everywhere. Social distancing is well-maintained and now you have to book in your breakfast and dinner times in advance. We used the stairs a lot instead of queuing for the lifts. The hotel has always felt very clean but it was evident that extra cleaning was taking place. Staff were still very friendly and helpful. In the main restaurant, the traditional buffet has changed to the chefs serving you the food on display and some food is in little pots or jars but it worked fine. If anything I would suggest that the hotel did this permanently as it definitely avoids people piling their plates high with food which is then wasted! But servings were always generous and the food was of a very high standard with fresh fruit and vegetables, and fish and meat cooked right in front of you. The food is definitely a highlight of the hotel and having the stunning view of the Cala Galdana whilst you eat is hard to beat! It's a short walk to the beach which didn't feel overcrowded. We didn't make use of the facilities but there is also nightly music in the cape nao restaurant. The only negatives for me about the hotel are the rooms are quite small but it's not a huge issue as you only use them for sleeping. The bar service in the lobby and by the pool is a bit slow but this could be easily remedied by adding another staff member. We look forward to our next trip!
Fantastic hotel, great location, 5* services.
My favorite mediterranean sea spot. Most of the staff were very friendly and attentive and tried to accommodate all reasonable requests. Having stayed there 5 times prior to the last visit it has been great experience considering the covid era and mask wearing all the time. The Melia team is serious about the safety of guests and it felt incredibly safe. The beds and bedding is top end, best sleep in a long time. Hotel is kept immaculately cleaned in all areas, towels are changed regularly and whenever requested. The beach towels are provided which is handy. Tomas guest manager has welcomed us again as many times before and made sure we are looked after. It gives you a familiarity and you relax immediately knowing you see your regular melia team who always look after you. We can't wait to come back again Tomas! A big thank you to you and all Melia team making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We love Cala Galdana Melia hotel :-)
Paradise, excellent hotel
The hotel is situated directly at one of the nicest beaches in Menorca -- and near many others, for a change of pace. Hotel amenities, Wifi and pool and breakfast buffet, were exceptional -- and the attention paid to Covid was impressive (the only concerns were the other guests, but certainly the hotel did everything in its power to minimize risks -- I was impressed from start to finish). We were dissatisfied with our room and requested a change -- which was granted at no charge. Quite a phenomenal service from a dedicated staff. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey, but not impossibly expensive, and we ate dinner at the hotel twice, even as there are several excellent restaurants nearby (even 2-3 by foot). Drawbacks? The hotel is large, with hundreds of rooms, so if you're not OK with that sort of thing -- don't come. But I felt that even with the ten floors, it still felt like quite small -- due to the care of the staff and level of professionalism. We never had to wait anywhere, really, and while this may have had to do with the Covid reducing guest levels, it was frankly perfect.
Perfect long weekend in Menorca. About 25 mins from the airport. Friendly, very clean hotel with an excellent swimming pool albeit not good for children as deep. Very clean beach with sun beds literally on the doorstep. Immaculate bedroom but wouldn’t it be good to have easy access to an ice machine? Great buffet breakfast with every imaginable food. Hotel parking is €20 a day but there is easy free parking very close by. Would definitely go back and recommend. One complaint though. The hotel needs better lighting at the access to/ from the beach in the evening. Too dark.
An amazing hotel
My husband and I can only thank everyone working at the melia hotel for making our holiday yet again special. We love coming here. The hotel is right by the beach and the views are incredible. The food is excellent and the staff are so professional and always make us so welcome. The level is well worth paying extra for. It has its own swimming pool and you can help yourself to non alcoholic drinks through the day using its private lounge. Between 5.30pm and 6.30pm alcoholic drinks or non alcoholic drinks and appetisers are set out in the small lounge for level guests to help themselves and it’s a lovely way of meeting people. I cannot speak more highly of this friendly hotel where staff work very professionally to make sure guests have a lovely holiday.
