With its focus on laidback luxury, and its flexible accommodation and dining options, this intimate new beachside property will appeal to all ages.
Opened in July 2021, Mango House is the epitome of modern luxury, which recognises that the greatest indulgences of all can be as simple as spending time with loved ones in beautiful, restful surroundings. It would be hard, in fact, to improve on the setting: on the scenic curve of Anse aux Poules Bleues, a sheltered bay with shallow clear waters and an alluring sweep of pale sand. The house at its heart was once the family property of a celebrated Italian photographer, and that chic-home-from-home sensation is in evidence throughout the resort. So, too, is the sense of place, with a Seychellois flavour to everything from the irresistible food to the thoughtful and discreet service.
Relaxation and pampering are the order of every day at Mango House. At the small wellness sanctuary the two treatment rooms overlook the sea, making the personalised therapies – featuring locally handmade products – even more restorative. There’s a choice of three inviting pool areas, all with ocean vistas as standard, so guests can find the perfect corner in which to snooze, read or be more social. And, naturally, there’s the beautiful bay itself, teeming with marine life: snorkelers will be in their element, while the resort’s canoes and kayaks offer guests the chance to explore further. Leisurely meals are as much part of a memorable holiday experience as anything, and Mango House’s five restaurants and bars don’t disappoint, with everything from a toes-in-the-sand pop-up barbecue to grown-up Japanese dining.
All 41 rooms, suites and villas, cleverly arranged around the richly scented tropical gardens, are spacious and immaculately designed, with the sea visible from every balcony and terrace. The décor is stylishly neutral – think white walls, neutral fabrics and blond wood – providing an unobtrusive backdrop to leisurely days. With 11 room types, everyone from couples and young families to larger groups will be able to tailor their accommodation to their precise needs. The King Premium Deluxe Rooms, for instance, are ideal for two, and have a balcony from which to admire the sunset. If a private pool is a must, opt for the beachfront Ocean House One Bedroom Pool Suite, which also has an outdoor dining area and a large sofabed in the living room, or the two-storey Bay House Three Bedroom Pool Villa with its generous indoor and outdoor spaces.
