One of the best hotel I ever visited, very clean and very helpful staff great location, I highly recommend this hotel for any one looking for quite pace of mine I will need 4x4 car to reach the hotel, and make sure that you read the road instructions. The food is amazing at the hotel
The view and ambience is to die for.
We stayed at the ALILA in april 2021, Easter weekend. Pros The rooms were divine. Room service food was quick All the food on the limited menu was fantastic Staff were super friendly Spa was amazing, I recommend the balinese massage. The jacuzzi pool is relaxing. The views.. The location.. And the night sky will blow u away. Cons Check in was delayed by an hour. Room service clean up did not happen, not once. Had to call up for everything (water) Severly understaffed - the restaurant staff couldn't handle the volume of orders they had, there were meals we didn't even get a glass of water. Room service food trays lay outside the rooms for a long time. Overall the place is great, with room for improvement. It might be due to the pandemic, or venetian cost cutting... But a 5 star resort shouldn't fail on some of the basics. Hopefully our next stay will be near flawless.
Understaffed and overwhelmed
We have visited the Alila for the past 6 years on a regular basis. While we had a great experience on our last stay in December 2020. Our recent stay in March 2021 has to be clearly rated the poorest performance we have experienced so far. To sum up the key points: - Unable to contact the reservation desk on 8 attempts. - As a result we booked online and were informed one day prior to arrival, that the premier room we had booked is not allowed for children. We were informed that we will be downgraded to a standard room and would have to pay additional charges. - On arrival we had to wait 20 minutes for check-in - no refreshments or anything was offered. - During the stay our room was not made, nor did we receive any replacement drinking water. - The restaurant was under-staffed and we had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be cleared and had to remind staff three times that we ordered some coffees. - On check-out nobody answered the phone at reception for assistance with luggage, so we carried the bags ourselves to the car. On the way we passed a number of staff, but nobody seemed to be available to assist. Overall a disappointing experience which was overshadowed by the apparent lack of staff to deal with the number of guests. Number one point to fix: Answer the phone.
One of the best hotel in Oman!!
We stayed in Alila and we took the suite with the canyon view....stunning!! There are a lot of complementary activities like stargazing highly recommended. The food from the restaurant was really good.
An Amazing Facility with poor service
Food and Beverage over priced for the quality of service. Staff is not trained to the expected level of such a high standard hotel. Facilities are amazing, views are stunning, room spacious and very clean.
