Alhambra Boutique Hotel Losinj

Historic charm and gourmet dining

A chic, contemporary take on a pair of Art Nouveau villas, against a postcard-pretty backdrop.

Lošinj is often overlooked for its southern siblings Brač and Hvar, but this unspoiled island is the understated jewel in Croatia’s crown. Its beauty lies in its simplicity: the sweet scent of pine drifting from its forest-cloaked interior; bays that look like a giant has taken bites out of the coastline. It’s in one of these secluded enclaves that you’ll find Alhambra Boutique Hotel Lošinj.

Why we love Alhambra Boutique Hotel Losinj

  • The creative cuisine in the hotel’s waterfront restaurant has earned it a Michelin star and praise from Gault et Millau

  • This tranquil hideout has an idyllic setting in tucked-away Čikat Bay,  wedged between ancient pine forests and the sea

  • The elegant spa has a heated seawater pool along with a Finnish sauna, hammam and a menu of herb-based treatments

At Alfred Keller restaurant (named after Villa Alhambra’s architect), typical dishes include day-fresh Adriatic fish or Cres lamb. The fine-dining venue comes with the much-coveted Gault et Millau stamp of approval. There’s also a more casual beach bar serving food right on the water’s edge, next to the hotel’s private jetty, which is dotted with sun loungers and parasols. You can swim here, or there’s a seawater pool at the spa, along with Finnish and Turkish saunas and treatment rooms for massages and body therapies.
