 Serengeti Sametu Camp

Where animals roam free

Set amongst acacia trees and surrounded by the endless plains of the Serengeti, Sametu Camp is a haven for wildlife.

At Sametu, your day starts gently when freshly brewed coffee is delivered to your room before you head out on your morning game drive. You never know what you may see and sometimes you can be surrounded by zebras and wildebeest as they seek out fresh grass shoots during migration. Outside of the migration, there is still plenty of animal activity and often you don’t have to go further than your private veranda or the swimming pool to see wildlife passing through the camp.

Why we love Serengeti Sametu Camp

  • You’ll be staying in a prime wildlife hot spot especially when the Annual Great Migration thunders through

  • There are amazing views from your suite’s veranda particularly at sunrise

  • Incredible landscapes and the proximity to Ngare Nanyuki river make this a great choice for photographers

  • Feedback from previous guests say the friendly staff welcome you as family

Combining local and international flavours, meals are served in the main dining area or by the pool. For a special treat, we can arrange a breakfast, sundowners or a private dinner in the bush, surrounded by nature.

What's Included

All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), water, house wines, local beer and spirits, soft drinks, daily game drives, park fees and tourism levy are an additional charge.

Your daily game drives are adapted to the seasons, especially when the wildebeest and zebras pass through on their annual migration. Outside of the migration, there is plenty of other wildlife to look for including the Big Five. For an extra cost, we can arrange a hot-air balloon flight which showcases the vastness of the Serengeti plains. Between safari activities, there is a lovely pool surrounded by acacia trees.

As part of their commitment to the environment, no trees were removed in the construction of the camp. Solar energy is used, and recycling practices have been implemented.

Children are welcome at Serengeti Sametu Camp and the two-bedroomed Family Suite also has a lounge which can be set up as a dining area if you wish to have flexible timings for meals.

The Annual Great Migration follows seasonal rains and whilst sightings can never be guaranteed, it normally passes this area of the Serengeti at the end of October and November and also during April and May.
