We received a full memorable experiences staying at the property as well as had an excellent hospitality from staffs in every outlet in the hotel. Food was superb and we were really enjoy the taste and quality of the food.
Overall I had an enjoyable stay but try not to expect too much. The hotel was understaffed and in need of general maintenance, but given that my stay was during long holiday and the pandemic, quite understandable. The service was overall slow. The stairway to my room was underlit, dirty and filled with leaves. The hotel is on a private beach that has to be reached by hotel’s shuttle boat or a walking trail from Ao Nang. Big pros if you plan on staying at the property for most of your time but a tad troublesome if you want to go out to the city or an excursion. I recommend booking excursion with the hotel or arranging your private boat, so you can leave right from the property without having to take a detour to the main pier.
Wonderful place and good service also you will see monkey at your balcony in the morning. Quite and relax in the nature. You can go to popular islands by boat reaching you at hotel beach front and may to see sunset.
Worst 5-star hotel experience
There are so many reasons that made our stay not a pleasant experience: 1. From the information I saw on Agoda, the hotel location is at Ao Nang which made me not realize at all that I cannot reach there by car. It is mentioned in the property page in which I believe most people would not check for the information there. I discussed with some other guests and they also didn’t realize about this although they booked from a different website. 2. Even on the property page, there is no information regarding speedboat departing schedule where guests can plan their schedule upfront. When I didn’t know, I could not plan my time ahead and ended up having to start my trip at 3 pm although I arrived hotel parking lot 10 am in the morning. I had to wait 1 hr to get on the boat to check-in at the hotel. When I asked about the next round to go back to the city again, I had to wait for another 2 h. 3. I also ended up having to pay 1000 Baht extra for a long tail boat in the morning of my last day to catch the 9 am flight. They will only start the first round of boat service at 8 am no matter what. The boat ride takes 10 mins but they could only offer 1 boat per round and every 1.5-2 h. If it’s full then you have to wait for another round. This makes everything so inconvenient. There was a time when I confirmed with a staff already that I also need a van to pick me up from the pier to the parking lot, the van came 20 mins late and mentioned staff didn’t tell him to come. How bad do they coordinate and they will never be stand-by for any guests who might not know that to book a boat and a van is a separate thing. 4. When I tried to book a boat service back to the hotel in the evening at 2 pm, I already could not make it to book the 8:30 pm round and had to wait until 10:00 pm that day to catch the last boat. This happened even though I booked 6 hr ahead. 5. After talking to some staffs for alternative ways to get into the city, on the next day I decided to try the Monkey trail, crossing the mountain so that I don’t have to rely on the boat service. This route is not recommended at all for senior people as it is quite steep. The staff said that I can just tell them a bit early upfront and there will be a van coming to pick us up on the other side to the parking lot where we left our rental car. When I called to book, the staff said sure you have to wait for 30 mins so I started crossing the mountain and arrived at the other side around 20 mins later. Then a staff called and said I have to wait for another 1.5 h!!! I asked I already crossed there and what do I do now to get back to my car. It’s a few kms away. I cannot let my mom walk! The staff didn’t recommend any solutions, completely ignoring. Luckily one employee who was around the employee parking lot was just about to drive back home and offered to drop us off at the customer parking lot. 6. The room has so many mosquitos, I couldn’t sleep because they bit me! 7. The hotel gave only 1 keycard per room as a standard practice (that’s what the staff said when I asked, I have 2 people). I believed this is the reason that my room has so many mosquitos cause guests would have to leave the door to the balcony open in order to get back in (the only keycard is used to turn on electricity). When I asked another guest, she said she received two. Perhaps they could have trained their staffs better. 8. The room is dirty. It is quite dusty so that I could smell dust clearly when I drank water using the glass in the room. This is unbelievable again for a 5 star hotel. 9. In the room, again this is the first time in 5 star hotels that they did not provide toothbrush and toothpaste. They left a small tag saying the toothbrush set is available upon request. They save cost in every bit where they can. In all, this is my worst 5-star hotel experience ever. I believe many 4-star hotels can do a much better job. Many issues I mentioned above are the standard things good hotels should be doing. I understand that this is such a bad time for this kind of business but they are a big hotel chain and they claim to be 5-star level. They should not try to save cost in all means that it turns out to be really uncomfortable for guests. This is unacceptable! I will not support the Centara group anymore and I would not recommend anyone to go to this place unless you want only a great view. Room is not good and services are really bad! Some staffs are helpful but the system set up by the management had ruined everything.
Worst hotel experience with disaster management front office
Went there with family during holiday.... 1) TV cable down at night and they told us they gonna send someone to fix it but noooo never show up 2) Only 3 pieces of face tissue (mean they didnt check and change it) and took half day for them to gimme new one 3) FOUND DEAD COCKROACH and FILTY DROP OF WEIRD LIQUID (I believe its look like period blood) -->I called front office TWICE to get rid of it (took about more than half hour for them to send someone) 4) Smelly toilet and sink ( Smell came from toilet pipe) Overall I think front office done sucha horrible job in terms of manage crisis and basic skill like communication and cooperate with other team. And yed FILTY DIRTY ROOM isnt exceptable in 5 stars hotel แย่ แย่ แย่ แย่แบบไม่มีอะไรมากั้น
