Cinnamon Lodge Habarana

A luxe retreat in unspoiled nature

Explore the Cultural Triangle from this tranquil lakeside lodge set in extensive wildlife-filled grounds.

Nestled in 37 acres of verdant forest on the edge of Habarana Lake, Cinnamon Lodge offers a luxurious base from which to explore the sights of the island’s Cultural Triangle as well as the nearby Minneriya National Park. While the majority of your days in the region will be spent exploring the local natural and man-made wonders, the sprawling grounds of the resort are a beautiful place to relax. As you make your way to your room from the central complex – home to the resort’s restaurants – you may come across some of the local wildlife. If you have any downtime here, we recommend hiring a bike and following the cycle trails or joining a guided bird-watching tour.

Why we love Cinnamon Lodge Habarana

  • The lakeside setting, with mature trees all around, helps to create an atmosphere of serenity that’s very appealing

  • You don’t have to leave the grounds to have a wildlife encounter – the resident guides can take you bird and butterfly watching

  • It’s almost exactly in the centre of the Cultural Triangle, so the area’s must-see sights are only a short drive away

  • The charming restaurants are supplemented by some magical dining experiences, including dinner over the lake
