This striking waterside resort, still close to the city centre, has a private beach, restful rooms and a well-rounded choice of activities.

Rising like a modern pyramid in its buzzing West Bay location, the Sheraton Grand Doha is a bright and airy resort with high ceilings, mirrored lifts and progressive architecture. It’s here you’ll sink into velvet chairs, dip into huge pools, savour Lebanese cuisine and taste the hotel’s famous Um Ali dessert. Yoga sessions, a spinning studio, padel courts and a spa complete the look.

The 371 rooms are understated with crisp, white bedding and glass doors which lead out onto a private balcony. Framing views of the gardens, city or sea, it’s a restful pocket of your own to enjoy in-between discovering Doha’s delights. The Deluxe Rooms are spacious and have views of the garden and over towards the city. For a view of the water, you can upgrade to one of the Deluxe Sea View Rooms or a Club Room. If you opt for the latter you’ll have access to the Sheraton Club Lounge where free refreshments and snacks are available throughout the day and house drinks are served alongside hors d’oeuvres between 6pm and 8pm. For extra space upgrade to a Suite which also comes with club lounge access.
