  • Whether you choose to arrive by 4x4, speedboat or paraglider, the remote setting amongst the fjords and mountains is very special

  • The traditionally styled villas offer peace and privacy and each comes with a private pool

  • Arranged by Guest Experience Makers, there is a wide range of activities both on and off the water

Awarded the prestigious title of Best Overseas Hotel Spa 2015 by Conde Nast Traveller UK, the Six Senses Spa is a tranquil oasis with nine treatment rooms and two Moroccan hammams. Six Senses spas around the world have a fantastic reputation and it is no different here, a perfect retreat in the desert.

Wellness programmes and a wide-ranging menu of regional and Six Senses signature treatments focuses on holistic and pampering therapies using only natural products. Treatments are administered by skilled international therapists and specialist practitioners who combine Eastern and Western techniques with modern day lifestyle programmes to balance the senses.

The hammans are a highlight of the spa, inspired by the traditional healing therapies of Northern Africa. Steam baths are followed with a mixture of exfoliation treatments followed by the application of essential oils and clay masks. Couples will love the Zighy Romance Ritual while those looking to take part in the signature Six Senses activities such as paragliding and rock climbing may want to try the Zighy Energizer ritual.

With a team of Guest Experience Makers (GEM), there is a vast number of activities available. Trek to Smugglers Bay, visit Dibba village, learn the secrets of Arabic cooking, try archery, take a dhow cruise along the fjords or simply watch the setting sun over the rugged mountain escarpments.

There's a one mile stretch of sandy white beach and a saltwater swimming pool. Enjoy try-dives or dive courses under the instruction of PADI certified diving instructors. If you are already a certified diver be sure to bring your certification card and enjoy dives at a number of sites off the coast of the Musandam Peninsula.

As well as social and environmental programmes and its own organic kitchen garden, Six Senses was involved in creating a local protected marine area. They also work with local communities such as Dibba Girl’s School raising money to build a sports centre. Guests can also get involved with the regular beach and underwater clean ups.

Minimum stay: 5 nights 29-31 Dec; 4 nights 14-28 Apr.

No departures 29 Dec.

Compulsory New Year's Eve gala dinner, supplement applies.
