There are three restaurants here, including Di Atas Sungai, which has lovely river views. This exciting restaurant doesn’t have a fixed menu; instead, Menu Masters, who are experts in regional cuisine, are on hand to help you create incredible dishes using fresh local ingredients. The beachside restaurant Nelayan (the Malay word for fisherman) is a beautiful venue serving up seafood specialities, as well as superb Asian and western dishes.

Di Atas Sungei
Meaning 'above the river' the location of this restaurant is as special as the Malaysian cuisine served here.

Nelayan
Located on the beach, Nelayan is the venue for Western and Asian dishes for lunch and seafood for dinner.

Teratai Terrace
Set amongst the lush gardens and overlooking the pool, Teratai is open for light lunches and steamboat and yakiniku dinners.

The award-winning Spa Village Tanjong Jara is an oasis of tranquillity. The therapies are based on the Malay philosophy of Sucimurni - to relax the soul and improve wellbeing.

The spa is set around peaceful lotus ponds and gardens and treatments are based on authentic Malay traditions. These include heated sea sand therapies, warrior massages and wild ginger facials.

Cycle to a local fishing village*, take part in a cookery lesson*, go jungle trekking to Chemerung Waterfall* or take an eco-river cruise on the Marang River*.

Tanjong Jara Resort has a PADI dive school offering a range of courses from introductory to advanced open water. Located within the Terengganu Marine Park, nearby Tenggol Island is a 45-minute speed boat ride away. It’s a popular location for diving and snorkelling due to its untouched coral gardens and a rich diversity of marine life.

In partnership with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, the resort runs a seasonal turtle conservation programme that includes an on-site turtle hatchery, educational Visitor’s Hut and a turtle nest adoption initiative. Guests can visit the resort’s turtle hatchery and learn about the on-going conservation efforts of the team. On occasion, guests may be fortunate to witness the turtles laying their eggs on the beach or watch the hatchlings as they return to the sea.

A tourist tax is payable locally at the resort.
