Highlights of trip
Nashville
Touch down in Music City, where live music is part of daily life rather than something saved for the evening. Bars host bands from mid-morning onwards, studios sit alongside cafés and shops, and it’s easy to wander into places where songs are being written, recorded, or tested in front of a crowd. Your attraction pass covers the key sights, including RCA Studio B, where Elvis recorded more than 200 songs, and the Country Music Hall of Fame, which traces the history of the genre through instruments, stage wear, and recording stories. For an easy introduction to the city, the Old Town Trolley runs through Lower Broadway, the Gulch, and historic Music Row, helping you get your bearings without any effort.
Step out the front door and you’re in the thick of it: neon lights, live music drifting down the street, and that unmistakable Nashville buzz.
Kimpton Aertson Hotel is a design-led base that puts the city’s music, food, and nightlife within easy reach.
The essence of Nashville’s personality is brought into the folds of Omni Nashville thanks to thoughtful touches and design quirks in this large, perfectly located hotel.
A touch south of Nashville’s famous Broadway, the SoBro neighbourhood is home to live music venues, restaurants, and bars. At the heart of it is the Cambria, a hotel that h...
Nashville to Memphis
Settle into your executive coach seat for the smooth three-and-a-half-hour trip toward the Mississippi. The scenery shifts from rolling Tennessee countryside to the river region with small towns and farmland sliding by. Memphis
Beale Street’s neon blues bars, the legacy of Stax, and the tracks that shaped everyone from Aretha Franklin to Otis Redding give the city its pulse. Explore at your own pace. Step inside Sun Studio, the birthplace of so many iconic sessions. Wander the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel for one of the most powerful narratives in American history. Drift through Beale Street as live music spills onto the pavements. Your VIP experience at Graceland adds another layer, from the Jungle Room to the gold records you recognise from album covers.

Memphis to New Orleans
Make your way to the station and board the City of New Orleans, the long-running Amtrak train that connects Chicago and New Orleans. You’ll board in Memphis, tracing the Mississippi River all the way down to Louisiana. The journey takes around eight to nine hours, but it’s part of the experience: small towns roll by, the river appears and disappears, and the rhythm of the train gives the day a sense of occasion. You’ll arrive in New Orleans ready for a completely different tempo.
A storied hotel whose lobby is said to mark the beginning of the New Orleans’ famous French Quarter, few American hotels can claim such a rich history as the Hotel Monteleone.
Grandeur and elegance in the heart of New Orleans, Omni Royal Orleans is the perfect retreat for a classic luxury city break.
Artsy-yet-unpretentious, The Old No.77 is close enough to the French Quarter action to get involved but is a pleasingly quieter spot to retreat to once you’ve had your fill.
A red-brick warehouse in New Orleans’ Arts District has been reimagined as a contemporary and convenient hotel without losing a sense of the building’s industrial beginnings.
New Orleans
New Orleans changes with the hours, from slow mornings over beignets at Café du Monde to evenings when brass bands gather on corners, and music spills out of doorways. A guided walking tour gives you a feel for the city before you wander the French Quarter on your own, where Royal Street offers a gentler pace, and the Mississippi frames the city in a slow, steady sweep. You can add a jazz walk, a steamboat cruise, a plantation visit, or simply follow your appetite to Parkway for po’boys, the city’s beloved sandwiches piled with fried seafood or slow-cooked roast beef on soft French bread. You can also head to neighbourhood spots for rich gumbo or to restaurants serving jambalaya with real Creole depth. Three nights here give you space to settle into the city’s rhythm and discover what makes it unlike anywhere else.
