Day 1
Ho Chi Minh to My Tho
Enjoy a scenic drive from Ho Chi Minh City to the port town of My Tho, where you will meet your luxury Mekong River Cruiser, Mekong Navigator. After a safety briefing and introduction to the ship’s management, you can enjoy a welcome dinner in the ship’s luxurious restaurant.

Day 2
Cai Be and Sa Dec
Upon arrival into Cai Be the ship will be met by local Sampans, traditional boats that will be used on many of the daily excursions. Sail through the natural canals of the river delta and stop at a cottage factory where artisans create products such as rice paper, rice wine and popped rice. On the way back to the Navigator, pass by local boats and barges, and see homes built over the river on stilts.This afternoon, head to the larger town of Sa Dec, where you will get to visit the home of Huynh Thuy Le, the inspiration for Marguetire Duras’ novel The Lover, as well as the Chinese temple Kien An Cung. On the way back 'home', wander through the local produce market, a treat for all the senses.arket.

Day 3
My An Hung and Long Khanh A Island
This morning, visit a traditional farming village, walk through the verdant village, interact with locals and enjoy fresh coconut in the gardens. A local family will invite you for honey tea and fruit while you enjoy local folk music, followed by an impressive martial arts presentation by local teenagers. After lunch you return to the shore and visit a small village close to the border with Cambodia. You will have an opportunity to see the weaving of traditional Khmer scarves and meet the local craftspeople. You will also get to visit the home of a local veteran from the Vietnam war and hear his stories. Prior to the arrival of the Mekong Navigator, only one Western visitor had ever been to this village.

Day 4
Phnom Penh
Today is more leisurely, with most of it spent sailing upstream after crossing the border into Cambodia. On board you can find a spot on the sun deck, get a massage in the spa or take part in one of the cultural activities. The Mekong Navigator docks in the centre of Phnom Penh in the late afternoon and you are free to explore.

Day 5
Phnom Penh
Today, the focuse shifts to the darker side of Cambodian history, with a visit to the Choeung Ek killing fields, here you will learn more about the actions of the Khmer Rouge and have a chance to walk through the fields and visit the small museum. You will also visit Tuoi Sieng, the former school converted into the main prison. The afternoon is at leisure and there is a shuttle to the central market available. This evening, onboard, a Cambodian Cultural Dance performance will be held on the sun deck.

Day 6
Phnom Penh
After breakfast, explore Phnom Penh by Tuk Tuk. Start with the Royal Palace complex where you will enjoy the Throne Room, Moonlight Pavilion and famed Silver Pagoda. You then move on to the open-air national Museum with an impressive collection of artefacts from the Angkorian and Pre-Angkorian period. After returning to the Mekong Navigator for lunch, you have the afternoon at leisure to further explore the Cambodian capital.

Day 7
Angkor Ban and Kampong Cham
Return to learning about rural life on the river and the Buddhist faith today. Firstly, visit Wat Roka Kaong, a temple complex that is believed to date back to the mid 1800s. Renovated in the late 20th Century, the buildings are home to an stunning, 180-year old emerald statue. Wander around the grounds and visit the Main Pagoda where you'll receive a Buddhist Water Blessing from the resident monks. Later, at a village on the banks of the Mekong you can meet a Cambodian family and find out about their everyday life. You then get to visit a local private school and join the children in their classroom. As you return to the ship, you will visit a local monastery. Back onboard, a farewell reception with the entire ship’s crew and a magnificent farewell dinner in the restaurant.

Day 8
Kampong Cham to Siem Reap
Following breakfast, you will leave the Mekong Navigator and head into Siem Reap to start the next part of your holiday.
