It’s elegant, beautifully designed and has six pools around the resort, as well as access to the private rocky beach through The Lido St George’s Bay. The Lido, open to the public and guests, has a range of watersports, diving and late-night swimming until 9pm (July to August)

With eight restaurants and bars, plus three summer-only al fresco outlets, the hardest decision will be choosing between them.

Fra Martino The main restaurant is open for buffet breakfast, dinner and Sunday lunch, serving a wide range of international dishes.

Henry J Bean's The all-American bar and grill is the place to come for a child-friendly menu of expertly executed burgers, ribs and wraps, or just a classic cocktail, any time from noon til late.

Susurrus Dine on imaginative dishes featuring the flavours of South America and the finest local ingredients.

Caviar & Bull One of Malta’s finest places for dinner, this opulent restaurant has an inviting menu of sophisticated meat and seafood dishes.

Relaxation is the order of the day at the hotel’s Apollo Spa, whose expert therapists offer a range of treatments from soothing facials to all kinds of massages and body scrubs. If you just want an off-the-cuff pause in the day, there’s also an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. The fitness centre features a good range of cardio and strength-training equipment.

The 5 Star Starfish PADI Dive Centre offers basic trial dives for complete novices right up to advanced courses for qualified divers. In summer, Sun & Fun Watersports has jet skis, kayaks, banana boats, paddle boards, parasailing equipment, speedboats and yachts for hire.

The team puts on a nightly milk and cookies service before bedtime. It’s a lovely treat after a busy day at the kids’club. Check the opening dates of the children's club – it's open on specific dates throughout the year.

Deluxe Double and Executive Double rooms sleep up to three, while Family Rooms sleep four. All come with sea views and balconies. For added luxury, consider one of the resort’s Suites, which come with additional benefits such as access to the Executive Club Lounge. These have a separate bedroom for parents and a living room with a sofa bed for two children. Interconnecting Deluxe Sea View Rooms are also available on request.
