Villa Igiea, A Rocco Forte Hotel

Art nouveau palazzo

Luxury and serenity in a fabulous location on the Bay of Palermo.

Villa Igiea is an impressive addition to Palermo’s hotel scene. It’s not just because of its ornate-but-airy turn-of-the-century architecture or the magical blend of old, new, and local in its chic interior design. Nor is it solely down to the superb edge-of-Palermo seaside setting, with terraces and lush gardens that lead down to the private marina. It’s more the feeling that everything has been thought of and carried out to create a flawless - and very grown-up – playground.

Why we love Villa Igiea, A Rocco Forte Hotel

  • The outdoor pool is overlooked by the ruins of an ancient temple

  • A sensational spa is scented with orange blossom and utterly decadent

  • There’s a sense of place about the interiors — the palm-tree green in the palatial main restaurant is particularly striking

  • Between April and October, a handy shuttle service runs from the hotel to the centre of the city

Follow in the footsteps of distinguished guests and dine at the elegant Florio Restaurant Local ingredients and flavours predominate, even at breakfast, and it works brilliantly. Alicetto Bistro offers garden and sea views with plenty of seafood on the menu. Head to the vaulted Igiea Terrazza Bar for Hollywood-inspired cocktails made from Florio liquers.

Florio
Gaze out at the sea through floor-to-ceiling windows as you select from the breakfast menu - from sesame bread with citrus honey to organic egg dishes. Return in the evening for simple but stylish Sicilian cuisine, made with seasonal local produce.

Alicetta Bistro
Set in a pretty waterside pavilion, options include seafood platters and the catch of the day cooked on an open grill. Homemade ice cream is the perfect way to round off the meal.

Igiea Terrazza Bar
Set amongst the sandstone vaults you will find a cocktail list based around herbs, fruit and vegetables grown in the grounds, and an inventive menu with a focus on Sicilian salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes and fish.

The cocktails served at Igiea Terrazza Bar are inspired by the many celebrity guests it has hosted - try the Kirk 103 in tribute to Kirk Douglas, The Stuntman for Burt Lancaster or Harrison Ford's Far East.

What's included

Villa Igiea has made a range of sustainably minded choices, including how the hotel is powered, the use of water and how waste is disposed of.

Family rooms and suites are just the start of a family-orientated offering, with trips out and about to explore Palermo on offer alongside teddy turn-downs, babysitting and baby equipment.

A city tax is payable at the hotel.
