Couples-only chemistry
Cocos is purposefully low-key. Just 44 raised high cottages that feel more like island living than a hotel stay. Rinse off in your open-air shower and everything feels daringly liberating and tropical**.** Food is fresh and local. No buffets, just one easy all-inclusive table service restaurant. Your closest neighbours? A main pool, two white sand beaches and water the colour of parrotfish. Kayaks and snorkels are yours for free so give it all a go and meet the brilliant life blooming below you.
There are steel pan sessions and cooking lessons but not much competes with the salt air, scenery and space. Pick a cottage with a private plunge pool and slip straight into Bond mode. Most cottages come with an uphill trek - absolutely worth it but good to factor in.

Facilities
The main restaurant is included in your stay, serving organic, Caribbean-twist dishes in an open-air setting with sea views. Breakfast brings tropical fruit and eggs ‘your way’ whilst lunch and dinner focus on fresh-caught fish, spice-infused sauces and slow-braised favourites. All served à la carte. Two laid-back beach bars are also part of the all-inclusive. Private beach dinners, floating canapés and bottles from the Vintage List are available at an additional charge.
This is the place to pause and unwind in the most natural of ways. A small spa looking straight out to sea and complementary weekly yoga classes, with Ashtanga and Vinyasa influences, unfold every Tuesday to the sounds of the sea.
The sea at Cocos is always calling. You’re nestled right on a broad, sheltered bay where you can head straight out with kayaks, snorkels or paddleboards. Snorkels and kayaks are free to borrow and there are independent vendors on the beach offering a wider variety of waterports.
Lots of things at Cocos are carried out with a tread lightly approach. Rainwater is recycled, the restaurant supports local farmers and fishermen, plastic use is minimal and there are no televisions. Buildings are designed using natural materials including wood, wattle and thatch and the activities on offer are light on the land.
