If you want to skip the big resorts, Cocos is where you go. It’s the honeymoon set in white sand. The just-us escape with ocean views uninterrupted from edge-to-edge.
Cocos is purposefully low-key. Just 44 raised high cottages that feel more like island living than a hotel stay. Rinse off in your open-air shower and everything feels daringly liberating and tropical**.**Â Food is fresh and local. No buffets, just one easy all-inclusive table service restaurant. Your closest neighbours? A main pool, two white sand beaches and water the colour of parrotfish. Kayaks and snorkels are yours for free so give it all a go and meet the brilliant life blooming below you.Â
There are steel pan sessions and cooking lessons but not much competes with the salt air, scenery and space. Pick a cottage with a private plunge pool and slip straight into Bond mode. Most cottages come with an uphill trek - absolutely worth it but good to factor in.

Rooms
This is Antigua beautifully stripped back. Standalone cottages sit on the hillside with many opening straight onto uninterrupted Caribbean Sea views. The look is rustic - wood, wattle, thatch - designed to blend in and give you those marooned feelings. No televisions but we promise you won’t miss them.Â
Every cottage features a four-poster bed, daily fresh flowers and an outdoor shower shaded in tropical greenery. Sunset View and Sunset Pool Cottages sit highest on the hillside, a proper climb that’s rewarded with show stealing sea views and sunsets. Standard View Cottages are set lower down, closer to reception and the northern end of Jolly Beach, and with the gentlest walk of all.
Choose this one for the really special moments in life. Spectacular views of Valley Beach and blue blue seas that never seem to end. These are the cottages with the wow factor for those famous West Indian sunsets and they also come with a private plunge pool right next to your verandah.

These cottages, an uphill hike to get to, are for the ones that really did come for the view. Pick this one if you want the very best vantage point. Sunrise, sunset and everything in between. There’s a moderate hike to reach the second lowest level of the resort, where you’ll find these standalone cottages. Same warm wooden vibe and rustic charm, but now with flashes of ocean views between tropical trees. Stay here for a little bit more of the scenery without climbing all the way up the hill.

Facilities
The main restaurant is included in your stay, serving organic, Caribbean-twist dishes in an open-air setting with sea views. Breakfast brings tropical fruit and eggs ‘your way’ whilst lunch and dinner focus on fresh-caught fish, spice-infused sauces and slow-braised favourites. All served à la carte. Two laid-back beach bars are also part of the all-inclusive. Private beach dinners, floating canapés and bottles from the Vintage List are available at an additional charge.
This is the place to pause and unwind in the most natural of ways. A small spa looking straight out to sea and complementary weekly yoga classes, with Ashtanga and Vinyasa influences, unfold every Tuesday to the sounds of the sea.
The sea at Cocos is always calling. You’re nestled right on a broad, sheltered bay where you can head straight out with kayaks, snorkels or paddleboards. Snorkels and kayaks are free to borrow and there are independent vendors on the beach offering a wider variety of waterports.
Lots of things at Cocos are carried out with a tread lightly approach. Rainwater is recycled, the restaurant supports local farmers and fishermen, plastic use is minimal and there are no televisions. Buildings are designed using natural materials including wood, wattle and thatch and the activities on offer are light on the land.
