Toronto
After your transatlantic flight, you’ll touch down in Toronto and transfer to the Fairmont Royal York. Alternatively, take a private sightseeing tour for a closer look at the waterfront and neighbourhoods, or visit the vertiginous CN Tower. We’ve included a full-day visit to the incredible Niagara Falls, a natural wonder that is within easy reach of the city.

Days 4-5
Ottawa
Board the business carriage of VIA Rail to Ottawa on a journey that’ll take four and a half hours. The prettiness of the turreted buildings of Parliament Hill is matched by the castle-like looks of the Fairmont Château Laurier – a landmark in itself. Stroll along the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which becomes the world’s longest outdoor ice-skating rink in winter. In spring and summer, exploring by bike comes highly recommended, pedalling through the parks and neighbourhoods and checking off the must-see highlights as you go.

Days 6-7
Montreal
After exploring Ottawa, you’ll board the VIA train to Montreal, just two hours away. This French-speaking city is noted for its excellent food. But there’s plenty more than superb restaurants in this riverside city. Festivals and sports, museums and galleries, shopping and nightlife – you can find a version of the city you’ll love. Take a guided tour that explores the city highlights, including what lies underground through the RESO, Montreal’s underground pedestrian network. There are shopping plazas and galleries, food markets and activities.

Days 8-10
Quebec City
After Montreal, a final rail journey takes you to Quebec City, which is around three and a half hours away. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its Citadel and lovely Quartier Petit-Champlain, cobblestone streets, winding alleys, and 17th-century architecture. This is a fairytale city that’s simply delightful. Choose from a walking tour to check off some city landmarks or cover more ground by taking a bike tour. Of course, a gourmet tour is a tempting option in this city, tasting the local flavours from Quebec’s artisans.
