Loy Dream Cruise

Set sail along the Chao Phraya River from Bangkok to Ayutthaya aboard an exquisitely restored teak rice barge – the beautiful *Loy Dream* – on an intimate two-night cruise.

With just two cabins, this boutique, century-old barge offers an extraordinary way to explore Thailand’s Chao Phraya River, known as the River of Kings. You’ll cruise from Bangkok, stopping at beautiful temples and having the opportunity to learn traditional Thai craftsmanship through a dessert-making workshop and pottery class. Local life reveals itself on a longboat trip, where you’ll witness the alms offering at Wat Bo. Between these illuminating experiences, you’re treated to exceptional hospitality onboard, featuring modern Thai fusion dishes made with local produce by your personal chef, complemented by hand-picked wines.

Day 1

Chao Phraya River

You’ll depart from Anantara Riverside Bangkok and sail to Koh Kret to spend the morning learning local pottery techniques. After lunch onboard – served on the deck or in the dining room – you’ll visit Bang Pa-In Palace, the summer retreat of Thai kings. Your final stop of the day is Wat Niwet Woravihan, a rare European-style temple on a private island. Dinner with wine-pairing follows your sunset cocktails and canapés before retiring to your teak-clad, air-conditioned cabin, complete with en suite bathroom, comfortable bedding, and traditional local accents.

Day 2

Ayutthaya

After breakfast on board, you’ll explore the canals of Ayutthaya by longtail boat, observing local life as it unfolds along the riverbanks. Lunch is served back on the Loy Dream before you disembark to try your hand at making traditional Thai desserts. There’s time to explore the UNESCO-listed temples of Ayutthaya, Thailand’s former capital, before enjoying a delightful evening of cocktails, dinner, and wine back on board. As the ship arrives at Wat Bot, you’ll dock and spend your second night on board.

Day 3

Chao Phraya River

Your day begins on a reflective note, with meditation on Loy Dream’s deck or at Wat Bo. You’ll have the chance to witness the morning alms ritual of the Buddhist monks. After this enlightening visit, Loy Dream departs on the final leg of your voyage, returning to Anantara Riverside, where you’ll enjoy brunch on the way.
