 Abu Dhabi & Seychelles

A twin-stop holiday linking Abu Dhabi and Praslin, for a cultured UAE stay followed by a proper Seychelles week.

The Seychelles sits far out in the Indian Ocean, off the east coast of Africa, so most UK trips involve a connection on the way to Mahé, the country’s main island. This itinerary turns that connection into three nights in Abu Dhabi, which feels far more worthwhile than changing planes and pretending airport coffee counts as a travel experience. Travel to Mahé and from there, you'll continue to Praslin for seven nights, where the Seychelles becomes greener, smaller, and more nature-led, with palm forest, granite-framed beaches, Creole food, and boat trips to nearby islands all within reach.

Days 1-4

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, set on the Gulf coast, with islands, beaches, mangroves, desert, and some genuinely impressive cultural landmarks. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the big one, with white marble, huge domes, reflective pools, and intricate details. Louvre Abu Dhabi adds another kind of wow, with galleries set beneath a vast geometric dome that throws shifting patterns of light across the museum. You might set aside one day for the beach and a fancy dinner by the water, then another for the mosque, Qasr Al Watan, or museums. If you want the desert in the mix, we can build in an evening among the dunes. It is also worth talking to us about board basis and room upgrades here, because a little more included at the start can make the first leg feel smoother, especially after a long flight.

Days 5-11

Praslin, Seychelles

Praslin is the Seychelles’ second-largest island, northeast of Mahé, but it is still compact enough that beaches, forests, and boat trips can fit comfortably into one week. It is best known for Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO-listed palm forest where the coco de mer grows. This rare palm is native to the Seychelles and produces the largest seed in the plant world, a huge double coconut. Praslin is also close to Anse Lazio, one of the Seychelles’ best-known beaches, with pale sand, clear shallows, and smooth granite boulders. La Digue also works well as a day out from Praslin, with a short ferry crossing, bicycles, quiet lanes, and beaches backed by enormous granite rocks. We’ll help you shape the week around the right balance of beach time, island exploring, and factor in plenty of unplanned afternoons, because Praslin is at its best when there is space to follow your whims and your appetite for doing very little.
