Southern African Adventure

Tropical Tails

This is one for the books: a few days in Cape Town followed by a blockbuster voyage with Regent Seven Seas. You’ll port hop across southern Africa and around Madagascar before being dropped off in sunny Mauritius.

The all-suite, 698-guest Seven Seas Voyager is super luxurious but also wonderfully informal. Days can begin with a Pilates class followed by a leisurely breakfast at Compass Rose or La Veranda. There’s a well-stocked library and a pool deck where you’ll find a heated pool and a bar serving cocktails and other alcoholic drinks that flow freely.

Trip notes

Before your cruise

A trio of nights in Cape Town sets you up for this once-in-a-lifetime holiday. Be sure to tick off all the must dos: a V&A Waterfront wander, a Table Mountain topping hike or cable car ride, and a windy journey along Chapmans Peak Drive towards Simons Town and those adorable African penguins. You could also hop on a flight and spend a few days close to the thundering Victoria Falls.

Trip notes

Madagascar in focus

Pirate stories, islands few people have heard of, an unreal underwater world and wildlife that’s anything but run of the mill. Madagascar delivers incredible travel moments in spades. There are five stops here ranging from port cities that are gateway to rainforests, off-track islands where endemic lemurs roam and towns that are packed with colourful Creole culture.

Trip notes

Included excursions

As with any Regent Seven Seas voyages, you’ll barely have to locate your wallet at the end of the cruise. As well as the ultimate in fine dining from morning until night, and top-shelf drinks served around the clock, there’s also a whole host of shore excursions that are included. On this voyage there are up to 21 trips across the eight stops that you can join and not rack up any extra costs on board.

Trip notes

After your cruise

Yes, this is the kind of holiday that’s bursting with adventure at every turn; from hitting the ground running in Cape Town, and a cruise itinerary with action-packed port stops. With this in mind, we’ve suggested adding on a few winding-down days at your pick of our featured Mauritius resorts. We think that The Oberoi really matches the Regent Seven Seas vibe perfectly.
