Where to go on holiday In April

Japan bursts into shades of pink with the delightful cherry blossom season in full bloom, while in Okinawa the beaches start to open. Elsewhere the conditions for diving and snorkelling are at their best in the Seychelles when the climate is hot and dry, and temperatures in the evenings dip just a few degrees. This is the best time to visit Jordan if you want to avoid the sweltering heat of summer as cooler temperatures make visiting ancient Petra, days by the beach and exploring the wonders of the Dead Sea more pleasant. Cyprus is wonderful to visit in April, with colourful spring blooms on display, fewer crowds and exciting cultural events such as the lively Easter celebrations. So pop into one of our stores or speak to your personal travel expert and start creating your dream holiday today.

Seychelles

Expect high temperatures all year round in this picture-perfect collection of tiny islands. April is one of the hottest and driest times of the year, and therefore perfect for relaxing in the shade of a palm tree while the Indian Ocean gently laps just feet away. Diving and snorkelling is excellent at this time as the water is at its clearest, so expect to spot whale sharks, manta rays, turtles and schools of exotic reef fish.

Japan

April is a month of celebration in Japan, when streets are awash with glorious pink blossoms, sakura-inspired treats are in shops, hotels and cafés, and Hanami picnics carpet the beautiful parks. The first blossoms usually start in Okinawa during January before reaching Kyoto and Tokyo in April and ending in Hokkaido in May, so iconic sights from Tokyo to Hiroshima are elevated against a backdrop of varying shades of pink for almost half a year. While beaches start to open in Okinawa, a handful of ski resorts are still open.

Vietnam

Vietnam is a year-round destination with weather which varies by region due to the country’s long length, so there’s always somewhere to go. But you’ll want to avoid peak humidity and monsoon seasons. In April, the north tends to be cooler and drier than the central and southern regions – these are hotter but still less humid than the months ahead. South Vietnam is particularly pleasant at this time, with temperatures between 25 to 30°C.
