An exclusive gem on Kos’s glorious south-west with one of the island’s best all-inclusive packages.
The Ikos Aria is one of those resorts with a wow-factor. It’s location on a gold-sand beach opposite a small islet that’s home to a tiny church, the extensive Infinite Lifestyle inclusions and the facilities all add up to create a retreat that you’ll never want to leave. The style is modern with clean lines and cool and calm beach club influences, however, it’s unmistakably Greek: the snowy tones and crisp hints of colour reflect the region’s white-washed buildings with their azure-blue roofs. But the folk at Ikos Aria don’t want you to spend your entire stay at the resort and actively encourage you to get out and explore the island on a MINI Drive Adventure. You’ll get the keys to a MINI for a day and have the chance to discover hidden-away beaches, visit charming hilltop villages and eat at local tavernas. And best of all, it’s included in your stay. Back at the resort, there’s a peaceful spa, a total of five swimming pools and both kids’ and teens’ clubs (open in July and August) all fronted by a stretch of sun-kissed sand.
There are more restaurants at the resort than there are days of the week so you can change up your dining destinations and never have the same dish twice (unless that’s what you want of course). The main eatery is Flavors where a Mediterranean buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day. The seven à la carte restaurants include Fresco which serves Italian favourites, the Asian venue Anaya that’s open at dinner and Kos which specialises in flavoursome island cuisine. Deluxe Collection guests (see below for more information) have exclusive access to Seasons at breakfast and lunch but all guests can reserve their table here in the evening and enjoy locally sourced produce that’s determined by the time of the year.
The vibe of the rooms matches that of the rest of the resort – cool, calm and simple style that really lets the region’s natural beauty take centre stage. There’s a real emphasis on indoor-outdoor living with floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall doors that open out onto a glass-fronted balcony or a terrace and private garden. There are plenty of choices when it comes to accommodation from the spacious Double and Superior Triple Rooms to the open-plan Junior Suites and One Bedroom Suites which are perfect for families. For a host of added extra benefits (we particularly love the exclusive pool and stretch of beach and the bottle of Champagne Taittinger on arrival) we would suggest upgrading to the Deluxe Collection – a selection of Junior Suites, One Bedroom Suites and wonderfully spacious Two Bedroom Suites, some of which have private gardens while others feature their very own pool.
On the south-west coast of Kos, close to Kefalos, the island’s first capital
