Days 1 to 3

Chiang Rai

First up: Chiang Rai, northern Thailand’s quiet cool cousin – artsy, easy-going, and full of surprises. Tucked near the borders of Laos and Myanmar, it’s a place where misty mornings meet colourful culture, and the pace slows just enough to soak it all in. The city’s crown jewel is the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), a dazzling, dreamlike creation that gleams in the sunlight like something out of a fantasy novel. With its intricate carvings and mirrored mosaics, it’s part spiritual site, part surreal art installation. Beyond the temple, you’ll find quirky cafés, vibrant night markets, and scenic countryside dotted with tea plantations and hill tribe villages.

Chiang Rai City & Artistic Sanctuaries

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai

Discover the best temples in Chiang Rai on a cultural and spiritual journey through Northern Thailand. This temple tour highlights three must-see attractions that blend traditional Thai architecture with modern artistic expression.

Start at the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), famous for its vivid blue interior, golden details, and striking dragon statues. This modern temple offers a fresh take on Buddhist design and is a top Chiang Rai attraction for art lovers and spiritual seekers.

Continue to Wat Huai Pla Kung, home to a towering 9-story pagoda and the serene Guan Yin Buddha. This unique temple combines classic Buddhist elements with contemporary architecture, offering panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere.

End your journey at the world-renowned White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), a masterpiece by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. Known for its all-white facade and sparkling glass mosaics, this temple symbolizes purity and wisdom. It’s one of the most photographed temples in Thailand and a must-visit for anyone exploring Chiang Rai.

Whether you're interested in Thai culture, Buddhist art, or spiritual travel in Thailand, this Chiang Rai temple tour offers an unforgettable experience.

Chiang Mai

After a few hours in a private road transfer (approx.3 hours), you’ll arrive at the next stop on your adventure. Surrounded by mountains and lush countryside, Chiang Mai offers a relaxed atmosphere, rich culture, and vibrant street life. A must-see landmark is Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a sacred temple perched on a hill overlooking the city, offering stunning views and intricate architecture that reflects the region’s spiritual heart. With its bustling night markets, delicious northern Thai cuisine, and easy access to nature and adventure, Chiang Mai is a favourite destination for many seeking both tranquillity and exploration.

Chiang Mai Old Town Walking Tour

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai

Thailand’s second city is an engaging place to spend a few days, and it’s not short on must-see sights either. On this half-day adventure, you’ll take one of the distinctive red local taxis, or songthaew, to a laidback guesthouse by the main entrance to the moated old quarter. From here, a short walk will take you across the moat to Somphet, a typical small food market packed with stalls piled high with fruit, vegetables and more. Next, you’ll wander along atmospheric alleyways to Wat Chiang Man, Chiang Mai’s oldest temple. After a visit to the fascinating Folklife Museum, where you’ll learn something of the local Lanna culture, you’ll explore two more ornate temples: Wat Phan Tao and Wat Phra Singh. Finish with a taste of local street food for lunch before another songthaew whisks you back to your hotel.

Chiang Mai Street Food

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai

Northern Thailand’s distinctive food culture is a product of its history and geography, with influences from Laos, Burma and the Khmer Empire. On this gastronomic evening tour, you’ll learn all about its most typical dishes from someone who grew up eating them, and discover Chiang Mai’s laidback nighttime vibe at the same time. Your foodie experience will kick off with a starter at a small restaurant that specialises in the local Lanna cuisine, as it's called. Afterwards, you’ll continue on to the nearby night market - a hive of activity after dark - where stall after stall serves up irresistible street food and drinks of every kind. You’ll learn how each is made and, of course, sample more than a few. Rounding things off in style, the tour concludes with a nightcap at a hip riverside bar.

Days 6 to 7

The Bush Camp by Elephant Hills

After soaking up the energy of Chiang Mai city, retreat to the tranquil hills for a stay at The Bush Camp, a rustic glamping site about approximately two hours away (a private road transfer will be arranged by Elephant Hills). On the banks of Ping River, with panoramic mountain views, this is the perfect spot to unwind in total serenity. You’ll be introduced to Thailand’s most famous resident animals (in a hands-off style) and the people that care for them: than mahouts. There are just 10 African safari-style tents here which were built by skilled local crafters. They feature an en-suite bathroom (each with a hot shower) and have exceptional views out over the forest towards the mountains. Watch the elephants from the camp’s café and enjoy a sundowner with jaw-dropping views at a local look-out point. Between included experiences, you can relax on the terrace of your tent, take a dip in the infinity pool and enjoy meals in the open-air dining pavilion. It’s a perfect contrast to the city.

Days 8 to 10

Koh Chang

From Bush Camp, you’ll have a road transfer to Chiang Mai airport where you'll catch an internal flight to Trat airport followed by a shared land transfer and speedboat to Koh Chang. Thailand’s wild child of the islands, Koh Chang is lush, laid-back, and full of adventure. Think jungle-covered mountains, waterfalls you can hike to, and beaches that range from lively to totally chill. It’s the kind of place where you can spend the morning snorkelling over coral reefs, the afternoon trekking through rainforest, and the evening sipping cocktails with your toes in the sand. At Santhiya Koh Chang Resort, you can even have a go at mastering the art of Thai boxing. With fewer crowds and a more rustic vibe than the big-name islands, Koh Chang is paradise with a splash of adrenaline and a whole lot of character.

Days 11 to 13

Koh Samet

You’ll leave the shores of Koh Chang behind and reach the shores of Koh Samet by boat (we’ll arrange the private land transfer and shared ferry/shuttle boat). Koh Samet is your sun-soaked slice of tropical bliss —small in size but big on beachy vibes. Just a few hours from Bangkok, this island is all about soft white sands, turquoise waters, and a laid-back rhythm perfect for unwinding. It’s where you can hop between lively beach bars and quiet coves, snorkel in crystal-clear bays, or simply stretch out under a palm tree with a coconut in hand. The standalone dwellings of Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa is your very own patch of paradise for the last few days of your trip. After three nights here it’s the bit we all hate, home time. There is quite a long transfer back to Bangkok airport for your international flight back to the UK but don’t worry we will ensure it is all in place (approx.20mins shared speedboat followed by approx.3 hours road transfer to Bangkok).

Extend your holiday
