Mthembu Lodge
Conservation and culture
Mthembu Lodge is one of two lodges in the mFulaWozi Wilderness area, a remote area of KwaZulu Natal that perfectly combines Zulu culture and history with wildlife and conservation.
Bordering the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi park, mFulaWozi Wilderness area was created to preserve the wildlife and the Zulu culture of the region. Operation Rhino was initiated in this area in the 1960s and involved innovative capture and relocation techniques that helped rebuild the white rhino population. Mthembu Lodge is a boutique safari lodge with spacious suites and panoramic views across this wilderness area. Local guides will not only share their knowledge on wildlife and conservation, but they will also tell you stories of their rich Zulu culture.
