The Amalfi Coast with the volume turned down and the sea views turned all the way up.
Perched on a little promontory above Cetara, the boutique Hotel Cetus is all Mediterranean blues, sun-warmed terraces, and that addictive rhythm of sea, spritz, repeat. It’s a proper holiday hotel in the best sense — friendly, easy to slip into, and built around simple pleasures. There’s a private beach you can reach by lift, a restaurant that makes staying in feel like a good decision, and a wellness area for when you want to come back from the coast feeling better than you arrived. And the setting? Peak Amalfi. Salty air, coastal gardens, and the kind of views that make you suddenly very bad at replying to messages.
Why we love Hotel Cetus
-
It’s perfectly placed for exploring the coast without being in the busiest hubs, then retreating somewhere that still feels properly local.
-
Every room faces the sea, so you don’t have to play category roulette to get the view you came for.
-
That lift straight down to the private beach is the ultimate Amalfi hack, no steep cliff struggles required.
-
There’s a private jetty for boat departures, which makes carefree-at-sea days feel delightfully simple.
Rooms
All rooms overlook the sea, and the look is breezy and coastal: light blues, pastel tones, and hand-painted Vietri tiles** **that feel very Amalfi in a joyful, not-trying-too-hard way. Expect bright spaces designed for holiday living, with the balcony doing much of the heavy lifting for wow-factor and atmosphere. If you’re the type who likes a bit of a treat, it’s worth stepping up to the higher categories for more space.#/#
Facilities
Food is a big part of the appeal here. There’s a main restaurant for refined Campania flavours, plus a beach club restaurant for lighter, sea-day dining when you want lunch in swim mode. Breakfast comes with a sea view (as it should on the Amalfi Coast), and if you like the idea of keeping evenings easy, half board is available. There’s also a bar for aperitivi, nightcaps, and the classic “oh, just one” that turns into… not just one.
Ristorante Falalella
A sea-view spot for polished Campania cooking that makes staying in for dinner feel like the right call. Please note this restaurant is closed on Mondays and not open for lunch on Tuesdays.
Soleluna Dining Room
Start your day right with a breakfast spread paired with a stunning sea view backdrop.
Cetus Beach Club
Laid-back, toes-in-the-sand lunches and cold drinks a few steps from the water between swims. Please note this restaurant is only open for lunch from 11 June to 12 September.
What's Included
Buffet breakfast at Soleluna dining room
Wellness here is more reset-and-recharge than full spa labyrinth. There’s a Turkish bath for steam-and-unwind sessions, Technogym fitness equipment if you like to keep moving, and a menu of personalised treatments when you want someone else to do the work (massages, beauty and wellness treatments). It’s the kind of place where you can do a proper switch-off hour, then emerge convinced you’re a new person.
Hotel Cetus can work well for families who are comfortable with a coastal, cliffside layout and want an easy beach-focused stay. Room categories give you options, and having the beach right there is a big win for low-effort days. For very young children, it’s worth remembering this is the Amalfi Coast: levels, lifts, and lots of outdoor edges are part of the landscape.
The private beach is open from mid-May (weather permitting) until 30 September.

Wake up above the Amalfi Coast, where lemon groves cling to the hillside, the sea does its best work far below, and everything feels just a little bit removed from the Positano crowds.
