 Sina Brufani Hotel

Swim over Etruscan ruins

A grand, central Perugia address on Piazza Italia with big Umbrian valley views, a classic old-world feel, and a heated indoor pool with a transparent floor revealing ancient Etruscan walls beneath the medieval vaults.

First time in Perugia? This is a very easy place to base yourself. Sina Brufani is right on Piazza Italia at the top of the historic centre, so you can step out and be straight into medieval streets, shops and sights without needing a plan or a taxi. The hotel opened in 1884 as the city’s first luxury hotel, and it still has that palazzo-style confidence, high ceilings, antiques, and a sense that important people have been doing aperitivo in these rooms for a long time. Renovations have given a whole new lease of life, keeping the heritage feel but making it all work smoothly for modern stays.

Why we love Sina Brufani Hotel

  • The location is very convenient for exploring on foot, with Perugia’s main sights and Corso Vannucci an easy walk away.

  • The valley views are the sort that make you pause mid-conversation.

  • The wellness area has genuine wow factor with a heated indoor pool with a transparent base showing ancient Etruscan walls below.

  • It’s a classic, grown-up city hotel with real atmosphere, perfect for a long weekend of walking, eating, and switching off.

What's Included

Buffet breakfast in the Sala Maggiore room

The Sina Wellness Club is the hotel’s secret weapon, especially after a day of Perugia hills. It centres on a heated indoor pool with a whirlpool corner set under medieval vaults, with a transparent base revealing ancient walls below. There’s also a sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area and a small gym, while massages and treatments can be booked on request and are carried out in-room.

The hotel’s main strength is as a base for exploring Perugia and wider Umbria. It’s well placed for walking the medieval centre, and for adding in regional experiences such as chocolate-themed visits, wine and olive-oil tastings, or countryside excursions arranged in the area.

This is best for older kids and teens who enjoy city exploring rather than little ones who need space to run. The indoor pool is a big win for families after sightseeing, and suites give you more room to spread out.
