Tucked into a private bay on Sardinia’s south-eastern coast, Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi is a beach resort that’s cracked how to keep everyone very happy.
Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi sits on Sardinia’s south-eastern coast near Villasimius, inside the Capo Carbonara marine protected area. Translation? The sea is fabulously clear and the coastline blissfully undeveloped. The resort itself spreads around a horseshoe-shaped bay with a reserved sandy beach. Buildings are low-rise and loosely inspired by Moorish architecture, with arches, courtyards and terracotta tones that help the place feel more like a small Mediterranean village. Where Capo Boi really stands out is its focus on families. Plenty of luxury resorts claim to welcome children. This one really plans for them. That means proper childcare, activities that run all day, and thoughtful touches that make travelling with kids less of a logistical puzzle. The resort doesn’t compromise on style, there’s serenity and grown-up touches couples and friends travelling together will appreciate.
Why we love Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi
-
A private sandy bay with clear water that’s perfect for swimming, snorkelling and generally not moving very far
-
One of the few luxury resorts in Sardinia genuinely designed with families in mind, from childcare to flexible room layouts
-
A watersports centre on the beach offering sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding in the marine protected area
-
Thoughtful family perks such as complimentary baby equipment and children staying free when sharing with parents
Rooms
Rooms and suites strike a thoughtful balance between style and practicality. Interiors combine modern Moorish-inspired architecture with Sardinian details, using warm tones, natural materials and plenty of light to create spaces that feel relaxed but carefully considered. Most rooms include a balcony, terrace or small garden, which gives everyone a bit more room during longer stays and somewhere easy to escape for a quiet coffee or an early evening drink.
Accommodation ranges from well-proportioned double rooms through to spacious villas, with many offering views across the gardens or the bay. Families are particularly well catered for thanks to flexible layouts that allow additional beds or connecting rooms. The calming, Moorish‑inspired interiors and private outdoor spaces appeal just as much to adults travelling together as they do to families.
Facilities
Food is taken seriously here, but it’s still a family resort at heart, so the approach is flexible rather than formal — because small children rarely follow tasting-menu etiquette. The main restaurant handles breakfast and dinner with a generous buffet that mixes Mediterranean dishes, Italian classics and plenty of seafood, alongside a dedicated children’s section that tends to keep younger guests happy. Beyond that, there are a couple of more focused options depending on how you feel like eating that day. The beachfront à la carte restaurant is where to head for long lunches with fresh fish and simple Mediterranean cooking, blended with Japanese influences for something a little different in the evening. There’s also a pizzeria for easy, family-friendly dinners that don’t need much planning.
Artigiani
A relaxed main restaurant serving generous breakfasts and evening buffets built around Mediterranean and Sardinian dishes, with live cooking stations and plenty of seafood and grilled favourites.
Kento Bay Restaurant & Lookout
A beachside restaurant that works equally well for long seafood lunches or more refined dinners, with Mediterranean dishes and a pan-Asian influence in the evening menu.
Artigiani Pizza
A casual pizzeria overlooking the pool, known for signature pizzas created by master pizzaiolo Stefano Miozzo as well as excellently prepared hamburgers and salads, making it popular for easy family lunches.
Sudoki Raw, Bar & More
A sea-view cocktail bar where aperitivo tends to stretch comfortably into the evening thanks to good mixology and a terrace overlooking the bay.
La Bottega del Gelato
An artisanal gelato counter serving handmade ice cream throughout the day, which quickly becomes a daily ritual for younger guests.
What's Included

The Acquapura Cocoon Spa* provides a quieter counterbalance to the lively beach and family areas, making it the go-to spot for some adult relaxation. Facilities include a heated panoramic pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, bio-sauna, fitness area and treatment rooms offering massages and beauty therapies. Yoga sessions and personal training are also available if you feel like balancing beach time with a little exercise.
If you like to stay active on holiday, there is plenty to choose from. Fitness classes, tennis and organised excursions run throughout the week. Children’s clubs and activity programmes keep younger guests occupied during the day, which means parents can actually enjoy some downtime of their own.
The protected marine environment around the resort makes the bay particularly good for watersports. Guests can rent* paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats and small motorboats directly from the beach. Diving* is another highlight, with PADI-certified experiences available for both beginners and more experienced divers (with an external partner nearby).
Operating inside a marine protected area means environmental responsibility is part of daily life here. The resort works within conservation guidelines designed to protect the marine ecosystem around Capo Carbonara. Guests can also take part in educational activities such as beach clean-ups and nature-focused programmes that introduce younger visitors to the surrounding marine environment.
Families are very much the focus here, and the children’s programme is structured rather than loosely supervised. The main hub is Falky Land, the resort’s kids’ club, which runs daily from morning through to early evening and organises activities by age group so things feel tailored rather than chaotic. Children aged 3–6 join the Falkys group, while ages 7–11 move into the Falkons programme, which leans more towards sports and team activities, and teenagers have their own activities and spaces to hang out. Across the week the schedule includes football matches, pool games, arts and crafts workshops, science experiments in the Falky Lab, cooking sessions, treasure hunts and outdoor adventures, along with sports courses, kids’ Olympics-style competitions and even yoga designed for younger guests. Evenings often bring mini discos, movie nights or family entertainment. Facilities include indoor and outdoor play areas, playgrounds, games rooms and a children’s pool, so the club isn’t confined to one room. For families with babies or toddlers, babysitting is available and parents can request complimentary baby kits with practical equipment such as a buggy, bottle warmer, baby bath and changing table.
