 Provo & the Serene South

Providenciales & Sun-Kissed South Caicos Twin-centre

There’s no need to play favourites when it comes to picking your Turks & Caicos stop off spot. We’ve set up the perfect pair: Providenciales and South Caicos. Across a week, they’ll reveal what makes this cluster of 40 plus islands so special. You’ve got Provo, the epicentre of all that’s going on (but it’s still uber laidback), and South Caicos, where sleepy days are only interrupted by some of the world’s best under-the-sea sojourns.

Days 1 to 4

Providenciales

This is the thriving heart of the action in Turks & Caicos. It’s where you’ll find the highest concentration of restaurants and bars, the main resorts and the airport: this is where you’ll touch down and begin your holiday. We’ve set aside three whole days to mix up some serious good beach hopping (they’re award winners – especially Grace Bay), sailing to coral gardens snorkelling spots, and mingling at the Thursday evening fish fry.

Days 5 to 8

South Caicos

Most visitors to Turks & Caicos will base themselves in Provo so hopping across to South Caicos will give you some serious off-the-beaten-track bragging rights. Mass tourism? Who is she? There’s plenty of old-school Caribbean charm here and the only things on your to-do list will be to embrace the peace and quiet, go sub aquatic at wall and gully dive sites and bob about on kayaks and paddleboards. If you’re here from late January to March, you can add one more thing to that list: whale watching. You’ll be a metaphorical stone’s throw from the winter breeding grounds of hundreds of humpbacks.
