 Moon Palace Cancun

Huge variety and endless fun

If you like your holidays all-singing and all-dancing, Moon Palace Cancun gives you everything you want and more in one easy place.

Moon Palace Cancun is the kind of place where everything just works. You get a long stretch of soft sand, pools that shift from calm and quiet to upbeat and sociable, a splash-tastic splash pad, and a Jack Nicklaus–designed golf course that makes even casual players want to give it a go. The children’s facilities are on another level, with a Playroom that feels more like an adventure zone than a kids’ club. Teens have the Wired Lounge with consoles and air hockey, while younger ones spend hours in the splash park. You can also use the restaurants, pools, and spa at neighbouring Nizuc, which adds a welcome change of scene without ever leaving the resort bubble.

Why we love Moon Palace Cancun

  • One of the best parts of your holiday here is how many different pools there are. From the swim-up bars to the family-friendly area for younger kids.

  • The food really stands out for an all-inclusive. There is plenty of variety, the flavours feel local and authentic, and dining actually feels like part of the holiday, not just another meal.

  • It is one of those rare places where families, couples, and grandparents can share a holiday without compromise. Everyone finds their own pace and it works for all ages.

  • The atmosphere sits perfectly between lively and laid-back. There is always something happening, but you never feel pressured to join in unless you want to.

11½ hours to Cancun
Moon Palace Cancun sits at the quieter southern end of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. You’re away from the nightlife but close enough to reach the city, Isla Mujeres, or the Riviera Maya if you fancy a day out.
You’re about fifteen minutes from Cancun Airport, which means no long transfer. Most people check in, grab a drink, and are by the pool before they’ve had time to think about unpacking.

What's Included

Moon Palace Cancun runs on a generous all-inclusive plan that covers meals, snacks, drinks, room service, and most activities. Your minibar is refilled daily, and the bars pour a decent range of international and local brands without upcharges. Non-motorised water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding are part of the package, while spa treatments and golf cost extra.

If you like to stay active, the gym’s modern, spacious, and properly equipped, and there are tennis, basketball, pickleball courts and free bikes to borrow. The O Spa in Nizuc is open to guests of Moon Palace Resort and has everything you could want for a reset — hydrotherapy pools, saunas, steam rooms, and a long menu of treatments that range from massages to full rituals. Outdoors, you can join a beach stretch, go for a run along the palm-lined paths, or just wander with a coffee and call it mindfulness.

There’s always something to dip into here, whether that’s a friendly game of tennis, a round of mini golf, or a few matches of beach volleyball with new holiday friends. You can join a cooking demo, trivia session, or poolside game if you’re feeling sociable, or just wander the resort and see what catches your attention. Evenings are lively in the best way, with live music, fire shows, and open-air events that change from night to night.

The beach at Moon Palace Cancun is calm, shallow, and great for getting out on the water. You can paddleboard, kayak, or snorkel — all included — and the instructors are friendly if you want a hand. The FlowRider surf machine is the big draw, and even if you don’t try it, it’s fun to watch other people have a go. The water’s warm, the views are classic Caribbean, and there’s always a lounger and a drink waiting when you’re done.

The resort treats and reuses its water, generates solar power, and looks after the mangroves around the property. Native plants keep the gardens lush without wasting water, and waste is recycled on site.

Families are really well looked after here. The Playroom is a huge space designed for ages four to twelve, filled with soft play zones, climbing frames and creative corners. Outside, there’s a splash park and water features, and older kids often head for the FlowRider surf simulator or the Wired Lounge, which has gaming consoles, air hockey, and arcade games. Mealtimes are easy, with kids’ menus available in restaurants and plenty of familiar options at the buffets. The Family Deluxe Suite is the best choice for space, giving you two interconnecting rooms — one with a king bed and one with two doubles — plus a minibar stocked with juice, soda, and snacks. Add mini golf, bike rides, and evening movies into the mix, and it’s clear why families come back here again and again.

The resort’s 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course is spread across three nine-hole loops — Dunes, Jungle, and Lakes — each with its own character and level of challenge. The layout winds through tropical landscaping with wide fairways and just enough water and bunkers to keep things interesting. There’s a modern clubhouse with a pro shop, locker rooms, and a restaurant overlooking the greens, plus a driving range and putting green for warm-ups. Tee times can be booked in advance, and equipment hire is available if you’d rather travel light.
