Over ten days, you’ll travel by coach through Alberta and British Columbia on a well-paced journey. The trip kicks off in Calgary, where prairie horizons meet glassy high-rises, then heads straight for the Rocky Mountains. You’ll stop in Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper, cruise down the Icefields Parkway, step out onto a glacier, and hop on a ferry to Vancouver Island. The journey wraps up in Vancouver, with time to explore the city’s mix of ocean, forest, and skyline. And the best part? Choosing a coach trip means the details are all taken care of. With a friendly tour director and a group of fellow travellers along for the ride, you can settle in, look out the window, and just enjoy the days as they unfold.

Day 1

Calgary

Arrive in Calgary and head to your hotel in the city centre. After check-in, the day is yours. Whether you ride to the top of the Calgary Tower, stroll along the Bow River Pathway, or take it easy with a good meal, it’s a chance to settle in at your own pace. Your tour director will get in touch later in the day with the details for tomorrow. Overnight at Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Downtown (or similar).

Day 2

Banff National Park

Begin your first full day with a short tour of Calgary’s highlights, from the Calgary Tower to historic Fort Calgary, before boarding the coach and heading west. The drive to Banff takes about two hours, with the landscape shifting from wide-open prairie to the gentle rise of the foothills, where ranches dot the hillsides and forests begin to thicken. Soon, the Rockies take over the skyline, and the road starts to climb. You’ll reach the town of Banff by early afternoon. Set in the heart of Banff National Park, it’s a lively little place with mountain views in every direction, cosy cafés, and plenty of spots to stretch your legs. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the fresh air and settle in. Overnight at Banff Aspen Lodge or Banff Caribou Lodge (or similar).

Day 3

Banff National Park

Start the day with a guided tour of the Banff area, taking in key sights around town and within the national park. In the afternoon, you’re free to explore at your own pace. You might opt for a helicopter flight over the peaks or ride the gondola up Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views of the Bow Valley. If you’d rather stay grounded, visit Bow Falls, the Whyte Museum, or the flower-filled Cascade Gardens. Banff Avenue offers plenty of spots to browse or relax with a coffee. And if you’re after some proper downtime, the Banff Upper Hot Springs make a fine excuse to unwind. Overnight at Banff Aspen Lodge or Banff Caribou Lodge (or similar).

Day 4

Jasper National Park

You’ll travel the Icefields Parkway. It’s often called one of the most scenic drives in Canada, and once you’re on it, you’ll see why. The road to Jasper takes about five hours, with plenty of stops along the way to break things up. You’ll start at Lake Louise, where the water is as turquoise as the photos, then head to the Columbia Icefield. There, you’ll climb into a giant, purpose-built vehicle that drives right onto the Athabasca Glacier. It’s chilly up there, so an extra layer is a good idea. After that, the road winds north through wide valleys, thick forests, and more mountain views than you can count. You’ll arrive in Jasper by early evening. If you're in the mood for something a bit different, there's the option of a rafting trip along the Athabasca River. It’s mostly calm water with a few short rapids to keep things lively. Overnight at Tonquin Inn (or similar).

Day 5

Sun Peaks

You might kick things off with an optional boat cruise on Maligne Lake, where glassy water reflects the surrounding peaks, or take a spin in a motorcycle sidecar for a breezy ride through Jasper’s winding forest roads. Once you're back on the coach, the journey heads west along the Yellowhead Highway. It’s a long stretch, around six and a half hours, but the scenery keeps things interesting. You’ll pass through the rugged beauty of Mount Robson Provincial Park, follow the curves of the Thompson River, and roll through the tree-covered hills of the Shuswap Highlands. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Sun Peaks, a peaceful alpine village with a laid-back feel and mountain views in every direction. Overnight at Sun Peaks Grand (for similar).

Day 6

Whistler

Continue your journey through the interior of British Columbia, where dry ranchlands gradually give way to deep valleys and forested slopes. The drive to Whistler takes around five and a half hours, with the winding stretch of Duffey Lake Road stealing the show. Lakes and peaks appear suddenly around bend after bend, and if you’re lucky, you might spot black bears grazing near the roadside or bald eagles circling overhead. You’ll arrive in Whistler with enough time to explore its pedestrian-friendly village, full of shops, cafés, and alpine charm. Or, to see the landscape from a different perspective, you could take to the skies on an optional floatplane tour over Garibaldi Provincial Park. Overnight at Delta Hotels by Marriott Whistler Village Suites (or similar).

Day 7

Victoria

Today’s a full one, with plenty to see and do from start to finish. You’ll leave Whistler in the morning and follow the Sea-to-Sky Highway south, where ocean views, forested cliffs, and snow-dusted peaks keep the scenery lively. On the way to the ferry, you’ll stop in North Vancouver for a visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It’s a chance to walk high above the forest floor, surrounded by towering evergreens and the sound of rushing water far below. From there, it’s a short hop to Horseshoe Bay to catch the ferry across the Strait of Georgia. The 90-minute crossing brings you to Vancouver Island, with sea views along the way and maybe even a seal or two if you’re lucky. Once back on land, the coach heads south to Victoria. With its leafy streets, heritage architecture, and coastal feel, the city blends character and charm in equal measure. You’ll take a guided tour to get your bearings before heading to your hotel for the evening, where you’ll check in for two nights. Overnight at Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA.

Day 8

Victoria

A full day’s been set aside to enjoy Victoria. You’ll start with a visit to the world-famous Butchart Gardens, a spectacular display of colour set in a reclaimed quarry. In the afternoon, you might opt for a floatplane tour over the city and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, or head out to sea on a whale-watching excursion in search of orcas and other marine life. The rest of the day is free for you to savour the city’s charming blend of history and harbours. Overnight at Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA (or similar).

Day 9

Vancouver

Leave Victoria behind and travel by coach and ferry to the mainland. The ferry crossing takes you through the scenic Gulf Islands, and the whole journey to Vancouver takes around four hours. Once in the city, you’ll set out on a guided tour that includes Stanley Park, Prospect Point, English Bay, Gastown, and Chinatown. After getting your bearings and ticking off a few highlights, the afternoon is yours to explore more of what caught your interest. In the evening, you’ll join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner to share stories and celebrate the end of your Canadian adventure. Overnight at Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver (or similar).

Day 10
