Trip notes

Before your cruise

Direct flights from London to Perth make the city an easy-breezy gateway to Australia. Spending a few nights here is the perfect way to acclimatise to the time change and see one of the country’s coolest cities. The Red Centre and its iconic landscapes (Uluru and Kings Canyon to name just a couple) is the natural next step as you make your way across the country.

Trip notes

Reef to rainforest

On your cruise, you’ll be skirting the Queensland coast between Brisbane and Port Douglas, stopping in Airlie Beach and Cairns. These perfect pit stops give you access to a world where ancient rainforests spill down to the coast to meet the Great Barrier Reef. You can swap your big ship for small boat island adventures or go full jungle mode on a trip into the Daintree Rainforest.

Trip notes

Edgy stuff

Celebrity Edge® is packed with innovations at sea including the Magic Carpet®, a movable, over-the-water platform that changes identity depending on where it’s at. On Deck 14, it’s an casual pool deck bar and on Deck 5 you can enjoy ‘Dinner on the Edge’, choosing sushi dishes from the speciality restaurant Raw on 5. Finally, on Deck 2, it’s used as a seriously swanky tender platform.

Trip notes

After your cruise

If you can spare the time, you could always stay for a few more nights in Sydney once you’ve disembarked from Celebrity Edge. This gives you time to see the familiar sights of the city like the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, surf or sun soak on the famous nearby beaches, or just make the most of the cosmopolitan vibes in the city centre.

Days 1 to 4

Perth

Start off your holiday in the best way – with a few days in the Western Australia city of Perth. Beautiful beaches, botanic gardens and parks await, as does the unique Rottnest Island, home of the inquisitive quokka.

Day 5 & 6

Day 17

Kings Canyon

Today’s adventure takes you from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon, with a hearty breakfast stop at Kings Creek Station, home to cattle, wild camels, and an inspiring local story. Then lace up your boots for an unforgettable hike! Tackle the steep rim climb for jaw-dropping views over Watarrka National Park, pausing at lookout points and, time permitting, the lush ‘Garden of Eden’ waterhole. The 3-hour rim walk is challenging but rewarding, perfect for those with good fitness. Prefer something gentler? Stroll the canyon floor among boulders, native plants, and birdlife. After lunch (own expense), it’s back to the resort for a well earned rest.

Day 18 & 19

Uluru

Rise early and head to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku for a breathtaking Uluru sunrise, complete with a hot cup of tea or coffee. Then journey to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta, pausing at a dune viewing platform for sweeping views before exploring Walpa Gorge. Wander the 1.3 km trail through towering domes and striking rock formations. Later, wrap up the day with another unforgettable Uluru sunset before returning to the resort. The next morning, you’ll be whisked from your accommodation to the exclusive Field of Light installation. After a quick intro to artist Bruce Munro’s incredible vision, get ready to be wowed by this dazzling display in the heart of the desert. You'll then return to the airport for your flight back to Sydney.
