 Castaway Island Fiji

Chasing the Sun

A sprawling private island resort with eye-popping scenery and a family-friendly vibe.

Slip into vacation mode at Castaway Island Fiji. An idyllic oasis mounted by sparkling shores and lush rainforests, there’s no better place to switch off from the digital world and reconnect with nature. It’s perfectly perched on its very own private island, with 174 acres ready and waiting to be discovered and postcard-worthy vistas from every angle. Temperature wise, you can expect things to get pretty toasty, but a paddle in those crystal-clear ocean shallows will cool you down in no time. Slow days are best spent lounging on the beach, but if you feel like upping the tempo, it’s fun and laughter from the get-go at the ocean waterpark.

Why we love Castaway Island Fiji

  • The fact that it’s on its very own private island gives it a super exclusive vibe, without feeling pretentious.

  • The waterpark is set in the ocean itself, so you can enjoy the freshness of the sea breeze with every jump, slide and splash.

  • Guests are invited to partake in coral planting, a great means of preserving the Fijian marine life.

  • It’s family-friendly, with plenty going on for both adults and kids.

Restaurant 1808

This award-winning spot welcomes you to revel in a cultural dining experience like no other. It’s all about the past and the present coming together, with a focus on how we used to eat and how the world used to be. Sample the authenticity of traditional Fijian cooking techniques and take your tastebuds on a journey back in time one flavour-filled dish after another.

Nuku Marau Pool Bar & Grill

For casual all-day dining, make a beeline for Nuku Mau Pool Bar and Grill. It’s all about the crowd-pleasers, here, with plenty of aromatic Asian influences and delicious Polynesian inspired dishes to tuck into.

Sundowner Bar & Grill

Sundowner Bar & Grill is perched right above the beach, giving it an easy breezy vibe that’s perfect for kicking back and taking things slow. Think casual al fresco cocktails, made-to-order wood-fired pizzas, great company and to top it all off, the feel of invigorating sea breeze whipping through your hair. Takeaway pizza is available here, too, so if you’re planning a romantic picnic or a family get-together, you’re sorted.

Water’s Edge

Water’s Edge is the resort’s main restaurant, and as well as serving up a menu of delicious dishes throughout the day, there’s no better spot to hunker down and take in the views. Gaze out over the soft sands of the beach and watch the sunset illuminate the sky in all shades of pink and orange as day turns to night. On Wednesdays, there’s a traditional Fijian theme, meanwhile on Saturdays, it’s a barbecue and roast platter.
