Drift into Matemwe Attitude, where slow days and sea views set the tone for your Zanzibar escape.
Matemwe Attitude is all about soaking up the good life, island-style. Time here stretches out like a Sunday morning playlist, with powdery white sands and dreamy views of Mnemba Island, one of the top snorkelling spots around. Villas come in different flavours of luxury: some are swim-up with direct access to a shared infinity pool, others have private pools or face the open sea. It’s the ideal place to wind down after an exhilarating safari, or a one-stop-flop choice when you’re simply craving peace and quiet on far-flung shores.
Why we love Matemwe Attitude
-
The sublimely spacious villas (some swim-up, others with private pools or endless sea views) help you slow down and sink into island life.
-
After the dust and drama of safari life, Matemwe Attitude is the perfect place to cool off, kick back, and breathe in some salty air.
-
From local barbecue feasts on the beach to wood-fired pizzas delivered straight to your sunlounger, every meal is a holiday highlight.
-
Matemwe Attitude is part of Attitude, a B Corp Company: here you can live it up while doing good, with local spirit stitched into every detail.
Rooms
The 74 villas nail the sweet spot between rustic charm and modern cool, inspired by Swahili culture and crafted with local know-how. Makuti roofs, woven from coconut straw, and hand-cast terrazzo floors keep things naturally cool, while furniture made from local Tanzanian materials adds an authentic touch. There are no TVs and no stress — just breezy indoor-outdoor living where the soundtrack is the ocean and the only thing on your to-do list is slowing down.
Facilities
At Matemwe, eating and drinking is a laid-back affair, with fresh flavours and beachside vibes leading the way. Start your day with a relaxed international buffet, then dive into local barbecue feasts with your feet in the sand. Light bites and cocktails are always close by, whether you’re lounging by the pool or kicking back in the shade. And when pizza cravings hit, wood-fired slices can be delivered straight to your sunbed, no effort required.
