A beachfront Sofitel where Atlantic seawater is part of the spa experience.
Sofitel is a French hotel brand known for combining French style and service with local design and culture. Here, pale stone, turquoise zellige, Moroccan craft, and gardens opening onto a long sandy beach set the scene. The real draw is Thalassa, where heated seawater, hydrotherapy, and marine treatments bring the Atlantic into the spa experience. Add yoga in the gardens, lunch by the pool, and a hammam before dinner on the sand. Your out of office has never looked healthier.
Why we love Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa
-
The thalasso experience goes well beyond booking a massage. There’s a heated seawater circuit with massage jets, hydrotherapy treatments, and sessions including Aquabike and Aquatraining, all drawing on the hotel’s oceanfront setting.
-
You’re right on a broad stretch of Agadir beach, with gardens and two outdoor pools between the hotel and the Atlantic. One of the pools is heated throughout the year, which is a definite plus outside the hottest months.
-
Wellness carries on outside the spa. The gym has Technogym equipment, while yoga, Pilates, meditation, beach running, and fitness sessions make it easy to build some movement into the day.
-
La Plage puts tables right on the sand, with Atlantic views and Mediterranean cooking built around fresh fish, seafood, and seasonal produce. It’s the kind of lunch spot that can easily stretch into the afternoon.
Rooms
The rooms have a soft, contemporary Moroccan look, with pale woods and stone, turquoise accents, and zellige details picking up the colours outside. Balconies or terraces feature across the range, while the view makes a noticeable difference between categories. Beds use Sofitel’s signature MyBed set up, with a specially designed mattress, plush topper, pillows, and crisp linens designed for a particularly cocooning night’s sleep. At the top end, the Opera Suite has panoramic sea views, while the two-bedroom Prestige Villa adds a heated private pool, butler service, and private beach access.
Facilities
Mornings start with a generous mix of Moroccan and international favourites, lunch can be light and fresh beside the pools, and La Plage takes dinner down to the sand for seafood and Mediterranean flavours facing the Atlantic. Local produce runs through the menus, with vegetarian and vegan choices easy to find too.
Le Market
The main restaurant starts with a generous breakfast buffet and live cooking stations. Dinner changes through the week, with themes spanning Moroccan, Berber, Mediterranean, Asian, and international cooking.
La Plage
Tables sit right on the sand facing the Atlantic, with Mediterranean cooking built around fresh fish, seafood, and seasonal ingredients from lunch into the evening.
Pool Lounge
Set among the pools and Japanese style gardens, with fresh local dishes, lighter choices, and vegan and vegetarian options for an easy lunch.
Le Corail
A sea-facing bar for tapas and drinks, with the Atlantic stretching out beyond the terrace.
