 Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

Tsavo's family option

One of the first lodges ever to be built in a Kenyan national park.

Kilaguni is cool and quiet, with uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro from every corner. This beautiful lodge has been designed to blend chameleon-like into the rugged savannah, encircled by rocky outcrops and lying next to a teeming waterhole that’s visited daily by herds of elephant, buffalo and other plains game.

There's plenty to do here including game drives into Tsavo National Park, guided bird walks and bicycle rides around the lodge grounds. Nearby, you can visit the Shetani Lava Flows, Mzima Springs and the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. Finish the day, climbing the volcanic outcrop of Lion Rock to watch the setting sun with a glass of bubbly.

Why we love Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

  • With interconnecting rooms, children's menus and Little Explorers kids' club, this is a good choice for families

  • There are themed dinner nights where there is the chance to try local specialties

  • The dramatic volcanic landscapes stretch as far as Mount Kilimanjaro

  • The lodge has an optional night time 'on-call' service to alert guests if wildlife visits the waterhole
