We highly recommend adding a couple of nights at the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur, or perhaps at the Oberoi Vanyavilas near Ranthambore National Park. Call for your bespoke quotation.
Day 1: Delhi On arrival, transfer to your hotel for one night and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Stay: The Oberoi, Gurgaon.
Day 2: Delhi Embark on a tour of Delhi, exploring Old Delhi’s narrow streets and colourful bazaars during a rickshaw ride before discovering the contrasting sights of New Delhi. Enjoy an evening at leisure. Stay: The Oberoi, Gurgaon. B.
Day 3: Delhi to Agra Continue to Agra for an overnight stay at a luxury resort which stands just 650 yards from the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival, embark on a tour of Agra Fort, a massive 16th-Century sandstone fort. Spend some time relaxing at your hotel before you visit the majestic Taj Mahal (closed on Friday). Its cool marble and clear symmetry are justifiably a masterpiece of the modern world and its awe-inspiring beauty has to be seen to be believed. Spend the evening at leisure. Stay: The Oberoi Amarvilas. B.
Day 4: Agra to Jaipur After breakfast drive to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, stopping to wander the deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Abandoned due to a lack of water supply, it remains an exceptional example of Mughal splendour. Transfer to your hotel which is located just five miles from the city centre and recreates the architecture of a traditional Rajasthani fort. Enjoy an afternoon walk through the bazaars of Jaipur. Stay: The Oberoi Rajvilas. B.
Day 5: Jaipur Visit the Amber Fort, perched high above the nearby town of Amer. In the afternoon return to Jaipur for a city tour including visits to the Royal Observatory and Maharaja’s Palace, plus a photo stop outside the Palace of the Winds which has a unique honeycomb-style façade. The evening is at leisure so you may choose to explore the colourful local markets. Stay: The Oberoi Rajvilas. B.
Day 6: Jaipur to Delhi Drive back to Delhi for one last night. Stay: The Oberoi, Gurgaon. B.
Day 7: Delhi Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, choose to extend your stay. B.
Tailor your tour
Oberoi’s exquisite hotels are some of our favourite places to stay in India. This suggested itinerary is a fantastic choice if you’re after exceptional luxury and the finest hospitality for your stay. The tour is entirely flexible, so if you want to enjoy the ‘complete Oberoi experience’, you could extend your trip and venture beyond the Golden Triangle.
You might want to spend a few extra nights in Udaipur, India’s ‘City of Lakes’, and stay at the mind-blowing Oberoi Udaivilas – set on the banks of Lake Pichola. Alternatively, you could add in a visit to Chandigarh and explore its gorgeous gardens and UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Capitol Complex. Stay at indulgent spa retreat, Oberoi Sukhvilas, and enjoy taking some time out from India's energetic cities. Shimla is a popular Himalayan metropolis set on an eight-mile ridge; discover its colonial architecture and awe-inspiring scenery. We recommend staying at mountainside hideaway, Oberoi Wildflower Hall, for panoramic views of the Himalayas.
