Has become a family favourite
I keep meaning to update my review of a few years ago. Our holiday at LGH left a lasting mark on our hearts and we have been back every year since. The little quirks we mentioned in our initial review simply don’t matter to us at all any more - in fact it all makes the place more charming. We love how understated it all is, yet so full of character. The past two years we have stayed in the 2 bed cottages and they are so perfect for a family with kids - loads of space, very well equipped and lovely seating areas for adults to spend evenings while the kids sleep. Andrea and Kathy-Anne continue to be brilliant in the fish pot, we love seeing their smiling faces every morning. Food is simply fantastic. We hope to be back for many more years to come.
Wonderful place to stay with family
I would firstly like to thank Andrew who was a beacon of calm amidst coronavirus chaos and made us feel welcome as the pandemic began to unfold. Our stay was wonderful. The cottage was ideal for travelling with kids. We loved the restaurant and room service options. The pools were great. Whilst the beach is a little rocky it was still beautiful and the views out across from the restaurant were so beautiful. We’d love to come back under more normal circumstances!
we loved the pool by the spa it was a little bit of heaven
we just wanted to say a big thankyou to all the staff , our cottage was delightful, so clean and so beautifully furnished,. we left at a difficult time because of the corona virus so really hope it passes very soon for you all.and we wish you all well
very good overall
Positives - Spacious rooms, modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lovely private beach. Good quality food. Would return if it was not so far from town or they provided a shuttle bus. Negatives− Service for breakfast was slow. No flexibility at all in choice - if you were on full breakfast deal you couldn't have just fruit and an egg because the fruit came from the continental choice and egg from the full english! They are wasting food and money - some mornings i just wanted fruit and maybe a bacon sandwich - No - you have to pay extra to order from the continental selection as well - so order full english and leave half of it? crazy! A long walk to Speightstown - local busses irregular - cant get on one sometimes and taxis were extorsionate prices. Maybe hotel could offer a shuttle bus with the same charge as the local bus - even slighty more - say twice an hour? That would make it much easier. Beware of the floating platform with the bench on it. The top step is leathal - it folds up on you when you step on it - my wife got her leg trapped and could have broken it or drowned if i had not been there - im not exagerating - fortunately just very bad bruising - reported to reception but they were uninterested - it was still there with the same issue when we left 3 days later. Its a serious accident waiting to happen.
This was a lovely place to stay - it has it's own small beach, beautiful rooms and grounds, and the staff is very helpful. My sister and I really enjoyed the hotel. While it is out of the way, we thought the experience was certainly worth it and there are great beaches and restaurants a short distance away. I will definitely be back!
