Fairer opinion Cobblers Cove
Hi Have to say having stayed at Cobblers for 6 times the reason for our return is for the Staff and service Bit unfair in the assassination of the staff during our visits during Covid period they performed 100% Including the totally focused Management Rated one of the top hotels for this reason can’t wait to return next week Stephen
Amazing hotel, shame about the service!
We just got back from 10 nights at Cobblers Cove and we loved the hotel itself. It feels very Chateau Marmont meets Caribbean Country Club and obviously the weather, beach and nature elements of Barbados and CC's location are amazing. However, for the price paid the service leaves a lot to be desired. Specifically in the restaurant and bar area it's borderline offensive how the staff can be so abrupt and rude for pretty much all simple interactions. Whether it's asking to be seated, them asking what you want or requesting condiments etc the energy and vibe of the wait staff is really disappointing. There are a couple of staff members who were much more friendly than others but the general feeling is that either the staff are unhappy or something is going on in the wider company. This was a feeling that was shared by every single other traveller we met on the holiday and it did mar the overall experience. We ended up eating out at restaurants away from the hotel for the second half of our holiday and honestly it was a breath of fresh air with impeccable service at the likes of Lone Star, The Tides and other places. A lovely hotel with disappointing customer service. Would we go back? For the hotel itself yes, but not for the staff experience, Hopefully they address these issues for future guests!
Great stay and snorkeling with turtles
We had a great week at Cobblers Cove. The food, cocktails and service are all top notch. There are a couple of turtles that visit the reef off the hotel's beach every afternoon and snorkeling with them in a natural setting without groups of other people (as per our experience in Carlisle Bay) was a real highlight!
Magical home away from home
This was my second visit to Cobblers Cove and it was even better than I had remembered it. The staff are so welcoming, and many of them remembered me from my brief week 3 years ago. All of the rooms are cool and spacious and feel incredibly private, with beautiful garden or ocean views. I love Cobblers because it really feels private and intimate - guests often enjoy chatting between groups, and there great quality local live music every evening. The living room really feels homely, with a beautiful collection of indoor plants and wooden chess and backgammon boards. The restaurant was delicious - I ate in all week and ate differently every day. All of the food was fresh and local and healthy. There was so much to do: I filled my days with water sports, tennis on the tennis court, going to the gym, and going out to enjoy the cultural side of Barbados (we were less than a 30 minute drive from basically every tourist attraction on the island). It was great to be able to walk into Speightstown and visit the local shops. Cobblers Cove is a very special place with unrivalled charm and ambiance - I couldn't recommend it enough for a short trip or a longer stay.
A very special place to stay
A very special place to stay. A boutique hotel in a great location that knows how to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Great roomy suites, very well equipped with everything you could want. The rooms are all great regardless of what your view is. There’s no TV but isn’t that what getting away from it all is about. Swimming in the pool and the sea are both equally delightful. The Cobblers Cooler cocktail is fantastic but one is probably enough! Because there’s only about 80 maximum guest it feels personalised but not formal. Barbados really do seem to have got their act together to restart tourism. Everything was very well organised and the anti COVID measures reassured us. You can get a fit to return test at the Crane Resort if you have a hire car. Driving is straightforward.
