In this remote, countryside setting, you’ll always feel the warmth…
Sariska is my first love in the industry. It took me a long time to find a place of my own, but we found each other. It started off as a passion project and in many ways, it was a gamble – I was young and had just started a family – but in the end it paid off. In most aspects, the lodge has retained this family essence with acres of lawn and forest to roam, a large outdoor swimming pool and that childish sense of freedom as you ramble around in an open-air Jeep spying animals in the wild. Some of my team have been with me since the very beginning and can personally testify to the amount of love poured into this remote rural lodge.
Sariska’s success lies in its location in the heart of the Golden Triangle. It’s a two-hour drive from Delhi and three-and-a-half hours from Agra where you’ll feel the vibe instantly change after days of cultural adventure. The sunlight here is especially beautiful when fading over the greenery. We offer 19 red-tiled, spacious cottages with a rustic-colonial feel and verandas looking out towards the Aravalli hills. We have a variety of double or twin beds, plus dedicated family rooms including a pull-out sofa bed and two en suite bathrooms.
The expansive courtyard is the beating heart of the property (and larger than most flats) where you sit out for breakfast in the morning light and enjoy dinners by the firepit. Aside from swimming, yoga on the deck is a welcome activity after days of exploring. Food here is a highlight – all homemade. Guests are very welcome to explore our farm where we grow vegetables, wheat and grain. We pride ourselves on Indian, continental, mughlai and himachili cuisine, my favourite dish being winter mili juli greens, a medley of radish leaves, spinach and turnips. Otherwise we do a great lal maas, Rajasthan’s signature spicy marinated lamb dish. Then our bakery delivers on fresh bread, perfectly flaking croissants, muffins and cakes for breakfast and high tea. The only items that we don’t provide are plastic bottles. You can buy one, but it’ll cost you 300 bucks.
Your journey will start with one of our UK team – someone like Malcolm, who's travelled extensively in India. They’ll shape your ideas into the trip of a lifetime. But they won't do it alone. They'll draw on the expertise of our contacts on the ground, connecting you to the people who'll make your holiday one you'll always remember.
