This small and intimate hotel is tucked away in a peaceful courtyard near the River Arno but it’s just seconds from the Ponte Vecchio and close to all of the city’s main attractions. Owned by the Ferragamo Family, this chic hotel is part of the Lungarno Collection of luxury hotels and it blends classic Italian design with minimalist Asian style. Blurring the lines between hotel and gallery, the public areas, including the lobby and the lounge-library, serve as exhibition spaces for contemporary art and photography by artists such as David Lachapelle, Steven Klein and Andy Warhol. The Fusion Bar & Restaurant offers an irresistible blend of Italian and Japanese-Peruvian cuisine washed down with innovative cocktails. Guests are also invited to use the rooftop terrace at neighbouring sister hotel, the Continentale. Discover Italy’s finest art treasures at the renowned Uffizi Gallery, stroll to the beautiful Boboli Gardens, admire the stunning architecture of the nearby Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, or enjoy free entry to the Ferragamo Museum which houses an impressive collection of fashion and art. The contemporary rooms are stylishly furnished in wood, leather and linen, and feature striking black and white photography and free Wi-Fi. The magnificent suites (available on request) are set on the upper floors and offer a luxury terrace and spectacular views over the city.
Set away from the city’s bustling crowds in a charming 15th-Century building, this welcoming family-run hotel and former residence occupies a peaceful spot on the banks of the River Arno yet is just a short stroll from Florence’s wealth of cultural treasures including the Ponte Vecchio. The pleasant interior courtyard is dotted with pot plants and you can enjoy breakfast on the sunny tree-lined terrace, which overlooks the river and a pretty park. Discover some of the world's most renowned works of art, including sculptures and paintings by Botticelli and Da Vinci at the Uffizi Gallery or stroll to the Giardino Bardini, an Italian Renaissance garden offering incredible views of the city's skyline. This intimate hotel features Florentine style rooms. Comfort Rooms are cosy and Comfort Single Rooms are for sole occupancy. Premium Rooms are more spacious.
This contemporary high-design hotel features innovative design elements and has a quiet setting outside of the city centre. You can escape the tourist crowds but still be within walking distance of the historic centre and main attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, Brunelleschi’s Dome and the Pitti Palace. The post-modern design of the hotel provides an interesting contrast to the traditional neighbourhood in which it lies. San Frediano is a charming culturally-rich district offering a real flavour of Old Florence. Wander narrow lanes to discover artisan shops selling everything from hand-made hats, shoes and leather bags to marbled paper and books bound by hand. Watch these skilled craftsmen at work and pick up some authentic souvenirs. The hotel’s super-chic interiors are adorned with unusual features, from the chairs which are sculpted in the shape of faces, to the bar seating area which resembles a giant red spring. Dine at the S-shaped communal table, which lies under a stained-glass ceiling at the UNA restaurant and tuck into Tuscan specialities and international cuisine. And in the summer months you can head out to the courtyard. There is also a café and lounge bar for cocktails. The dark corridors that lead to the guest rooms are a nod to Tuscany’s rich history – the doors are framed by full-length Renaissance-style portraits, but the interiors are thoroughly modern with low lighting and black leather or fuchsia panelled walls with twinkling fibre optic lights. The Double Classic Rooms are cosy and provide a comfortable base.
