Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa is the first and only five-star resort to open on this famed island…
Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa is the first and only five-star, deluxe resort to open on this famed island. We’re spread over 12 hectares at the northernmost tip of Boracay, in a tranquil eco-reserve that supports a thriving ecosystem. The resort also sits on a hilltop above a secluded stretch of beach, which is surrounded by a marine sanctuary where you can snorkel to see coral and all kinds of tropical fish.
When we opened in 2009, we introduced a new level of luxury to Boracay, with modern rooms and villas built using indigenous Filipino materials, from abaca woven rugs to lighting made from local capiz shells. There’s so much of the Filipino culture incorporated into our design, including thatched roofs that blend into the landscape. Rooms and villas have balconies where guests can enjoy either views of tropical gardens, lush hillside or sea.
Our most unique accommodation is the Treehouse Villa, a two-story haven on the highest grounds of the resort which offers unparalleled sea views. You can watch the famous Boracay sunsets from its outdoor jacuzzi. Our award-winning Rima Mediterranean Treetop Dining also has a fantastic view and makes for a romantic dining spot. If you prefer seafood, feast on the freshest catch at Sirena Seafood Restaurant and Clifftop Bar.
Guests often comment on how much they love our serene grounds. This includes our two beaches, Banyugan and Punta Bunga, our infinity pool and a clifftop spa for relaxing treatments. We’re the only resort in Boracay that offers a unique arrival experience, with a welcome lounge at the main port of Caticlan, where guests can freshen up after their flight, before they’re whisked off to the resort via speedboat. Mostly though, guests love the signature Shangri-La hospitality. Our staff, who mostly hail from Boracay or nearby regions, provide care and service straight from the heart.
We’re really passionate about sustainability too, from environmental protection to marine conservation and community outreach. We support the barangay Yapak, our local community, in various ways such as sponsoring maternity services for women and renovating a play school. We were also one of the first resorts on Boracay to significantly reduce single-use plastics and we have our own desalination plant, as fresh water is a scarce resource on the island.
Your journey will start with one of our UK team – someone like Suzanne, who's travelled extensively in The Philippines. They’ll shape your ideas into the trip of a lifetime. But they won't do it alone. They'll draw on the expertise of our contacts on the ground, connecting you to the people who'll make your holiday one you'll always remember – the free diver who can take you swimming with turtles, the guides who can take you to secret lagoons and hidden beaches, and the locals who can school you in the art of nipa weaving.
