Fabulous location, good buy, service ok
Lovely hotel just steps away from Bourbon street - and that is a good thing. Bourbon is now a gigantic trash bin, figuratively. Just about half is boarded up. Scary people hang around. Royal street by comparison is really classy, antique shops rather than third-world bars. The hotel is remarkably clean and well maintained. Nice bar, marginal restaurant. The bar manager needs to be asked to step outside for an Attitude Adjustment. Rooms are nice, with tiny bathrooms.
Was thrilled to have been able to book a room here. Especially since I had taken my 17 year old on an educational trip to Louisiana. I love that the hotel does not change as far as interior so I know what to expect. It's in the best location and has plenty of amenities nearby. It takes a lot to wow my daughter so I was surprised to hear her say WHOA when we walked into our room. I asked if that meant it was nice and she said YES! Great 3 night stay and we will return in the future.
We always enjoy our stay at THE MONTELEONE. We've stayed at many hotels in NOLA, but this is one of our favorites. Wonderful staff in every direction, great location. Hope to return again soon for a longer stay.
Please don’t waste your money
We found Bobby pins and hair in our room which wasn’t ours. We didn’t have anything special and given we paid more than an average hotel you would expect something better. The elevators were very slow. On top of all this the restaurants and the main attraction... the bar was open to the public this gave the actual hotel guest no shot of getting in or getting first dibs which I thought was pointless. Your paying for your stay and the experience but everyone else gets the same privilege. When wanting to go to eat or get in the 2 plus hour wait line the hostesses were very rude and blunt and acted like we were a bother. And to put a cherry on top of this wonderful experience.. not. Our vehicle was “lost”. We approached them several times asking for an update after watching 10 -12 different cars get loaded up before us and chatting with the guest that they had just called down and had a quick process. They kept saying they were trying to find it and then one lady had informed us they were having a hard time locating it and brought a different car around saying it was ours.... paying over $40 a night for you to lose a vehicle is pathetic !!!!!!
Definitely located in the perfect spot if you want to experience shopping, eating, and drinking in the French quarter! Location is truly everything with this hotel! Beautiful rooms, beautiful lobby. The bathrooms are quite small so if you want room to spread out your makeup, this hotel is not the place. The only unfortunate part of our experience though is that with the city’s covid restrictions, there were no bottles of water offered in the rooms, no room service (which is a big deal if you are enjoying the night with some drinks and want a late night snack) and the restaurant is only open for breakfast. Carousel bar is out the question bc that has restrictions to how many people can actually be in the bar. The city really hit these hotels hard with restrictions. Would love to go back once the city isn’t so strict with their rules. If you choose their valet, order it 30 minutes in advance. Maybe they were limited with employees. I would still choose this hotel at the end of the day bc of its cleanliness and location!
