The Best in New Orleans
When you step through the doors you feel you have step back in time. The beautiful decor through the hotel, large rooms and easy walk to Jackson Square and beyond make this the perfect hotel get away. The roof top pool and work out room provide a wonderful place to relax. The staff is top notch! Bellhops (George is amazing!), concierges, desk staff, pool staff, cleaning staff--all were so helpful and made us feel welcome!
50th wedding anniversary.
Part of our anniversary celebration. Visited Nashville Memphis New Orleans and Miami. All Hotels excellent but Monteleone position the best. Shame our trip cut short but did not spoil our overall holiday. John and Vera Nelson.
I would give this hotel a higher rating but the check-in experience set the tone for a mediocre stay. I had to speak to the hotel manager, but end the end nothing was resolved. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Wi-fi was strong and reliable. After exiting the elevator, it was a long walk to the room, which faced the street. However noisy the streets became in the evening, it quieted down by 10PM local time. The lobby and decor of the rooms look luxurious. The hotel is an icon and the architectural detail is stunning. It was VERY difficult to get into the Carousel Bar (let alone find seating), so we gave up (tried on two different evenings). Overall, the location is very convenient and makes walking to the Farmer's Market, Canal St, Bourbon St, etc quite easy.
Magnificent historic hotel, both indoors and outdoors, the restoration is really very good, incredible breakfast how varied and delicious it was, very professional and accommodating staff, our room was really well decorated and of good size and all this at a fair price, exellent value for money
The only place you should stay in New Orleans
We have been to New Orleans several times but this was the first time we had stayed at this beautiful historic hotel that was centrally located. The beautiful European antique shops, a must to visit, are across the street. Our favorite place for oysters was a block away at Acme Oysters. The char grilled oysters were simply the best. I am a Southern at heart even though I have lived my entire life in the Midwest. I was looking through my favorite magazine, Southern Living, and saw that the Hotel Monteleone was listed as the 4th best historic hotel in the South, not a surprise at all. Many famous authors have written books in this hotel. The rooms were a wonderful throw back to yesteryear complete of course with modern conveniences. We loved eating breakfast at the Criollo restaurant. One morning, we had to go through a different entrance due to filming of an episode of NCSI. The beignets were the best I have ever eaten. The Carousel bar was definitely a fun experience. I always order the French 007. Go early before the bar opens at 11:00 if you want assure a seat at the revolving bar. We simply loved this hotel from the friendly doormen, the concierges, front desk, Criollo restaurant to the Carousel bar...and to top if off the hotel was reasonably priced! We can't wait to return!
