I will try to be as objective as I can, we just came back from our long awaited vacation. It was my daughter's 18th birthday and she chose the hotel. Before leaving I communicated the special occasion to the hotel specifying. Having said all this I must say that we probably had high expectations. Eva Palace is by NO means a 5 star hotel, and they know it. There are 3 hotels on this tiny peninsula in Corfu. Pretty location, but Eva Palace is by no means anywhere as nice as Imperial which is just adjacent. They are apparently both 5 stars, but Eva is outdated, old, neglected. The plus side is that you can use the Imperial facilities. Garden areas are not looked after, rooms are pleasant but oldish, bathrooms are semi functional. Towels are not always the same color. Rooms are cleaned daily but fast and not accurately. Bed sheets are changed but not regularly. Our rooms were super noisy, day and night. The dining service is terrible. We were on a half board and could change our lunch with dinner. This was a positive note this way we could decide last minute if to have dinner in Corfu, which was a good thing as we often couldn't find a place for over 20 minutes at main restaurant in the month of June. The airport is not far, but planes fly over the hotel all day, and evening. This makes it a little noisy. Reception staff is kind and try to help as much as possible, staff seem unruly and often grumpy. This place is not bad but not good, definitely not a 5 star. I wouldn't give it more than 3,5 stars being generous. Will not return. Shame as we were disappointed and had high expectations. We had stied at Grecotel in several occasions when the kids were small and had good memories. I will not be spending so much money on their chain again.
Simply amazing !!
Great value for money. 5 star service levels, top quality food, even with the all inclusive package. Beautiful views. Best kept secret in Greece. Looking forward to our return. Thank You so much to the team.
Lovely Hotel, Great Location but NOT 5 Star
We spent a week here late June and travelled with friends. The hotel is set in a lovely location with wonderful vistas from the 3rd floor Bar area which is very swish and all the staff were welcoming. The pool and pool bar are great places to hang out and relax watching the day go by. They have new wicker sun beds which are very comfortable. Ewa looked after us around the pool and she was great making sure we were topped up with drinks throughout the day. Theodora also gets a shout out as she was very welcoming at Breakfast and Dinner. However this is not a 5 star hotel, at best an average 4 star. We booked all inclusive via TUI which the hotel calls 'Comfort Package' however this does not include all drinks (i don't expect Grey Goose or single malts to be part of all inclusive) however Coffee, Expressos, Cappuccino, Tia Maria, Mojito, Mai Tai to name a few were all chargeable. TUI sold the All Inclusive c/w snacks - this would have been very welcome on our arrival as we had a very early flight and long delays at Corfu airport resulting in us not getting to the hotel until 3.30pm. Light snacks to see us through to dinner would have gone down a treat. One evening we wanted a table for 4 with the lovely views from the veranda however the waitress suggested we come back at 9.00ish when there should be spaces. Although the buffet dinner is served up till 9.30pm as soon as the clock struck 9.30 the staff were quick to clear up the restaurant whilst we and others were still dining. I had to ask for some ice-cream from the staff as it had already been packed up (not what you expect from a 5* hotel) The buffet lunch and dinners were nice but the same most nights. I am glad we were not here for 2 weeks. Entertainment was very forgettable, there was only one night when the band got us up and dancing. We were told the air con in the main bar had been turned down to reduce costs, windows could not be opened due to the railings not being safe, so it was always a little to warm to enjoy this area. Ideally located to hire a boat to see the island with boat hire available from the hotel beach. The beach bar was great and toilets were very clean. Not sure whether Covid is increasing in Greece but last two days of holiday all staff reverted to wearing mask, when asked 'to protect themselves' Would i return to this hotel - No
Great hotel worth considering staying here.
We stayed at this hotel with our 21 year old son after he completed his uni course and it was his 21st birthday during the stay. We stayed in one room. The room was a good size and the the single bed for our son was fine. Strongly recommend booking a sea view room - the view is spectacular and beautiful. We stayed half board. The food was of good quality from our perspective having stayed in similar hotels. We used the hotel al la carte restaurant - contessa. This was pricey but a nice experience. Pool area is nice with adequate sun beds. The beach is very close and down some steps and is very pleasant. We used the complimentary bus to go to Corfu town ( but suggest booking at least couple of days beforehand) Overall staff very good and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to Corfu. Only downsides We had no issues but if you had mobility issues steps down to pool steep and could be risk of falls if unsteady. Cocktails if paying for them ( ie not all inclusive) are pricey and weak in alcohol we felt. Hotel not close to many Tavernas ( we did use Apavado - 5 mins walk away which was pleasant with good views) Not to do with hotel but the temperature for most of week was extremely hot - we would probably avoid late June , July and August in the future. We were advised by locals September best time to visit weather wise.. Overall we would recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel great staff
We stayed with friends in early May. We were at this hotel sbout 6 years ago and wondered how it would be post Covid - it was still a great hotel with staff that we’re really friendly helpful and attentive. The staff wore masks in the restaurants and guests were supposed to wear masks around the food but few did. The food was great - sometime not as hot as we’d like but they had all door open to ensure fresh air and it’s not that hot in early May. If you told them they immediately addressed it and I have to say the staff were exemplary. The two speciality restaurants were lovely rsteak n sushi and la contessa (prefer this) Both were very nice and a nice change. We got the hotel bus into Corfu - worth going and easy to get around. Lots of nice places to eat and take the beautiful views in. We did a bit of walking to the right of the hotel - there are a few restaurants. You can walk along the beach (you have to go above the beach for a bit to get all the way along). Had a few oiks from Amsterdam which was so odd as this is not the kind of hotel to attract them, they were removed from hotel - again staff dealt with very well - cannot fault the staff. A 10 million pound yacht docked by the hotel with a speedboat and helicopter - was fun watching how the other half live. Highly recommend the hotel. Date of stay: May 2022
