Nice international hotel in Chiang Mai
The hotel located in city area of Chiang Mai! The hotel has a big swimming pool with big slider and kids zone. Moreover, the hotel also have separate outdoor public jacuzzi. The room and toilet are clean and tidy with Shangrila standard amenities, pillow and bedsheet. The toilet also have separate bath tub and shower area. The staffs are polite and supportive.
Great Stay, Excellent Hotel
We stayed at the Hotel during mid-January 2020 and it certainly held up to our Shangri-La expectations. Upon arrival, we entered through the high security standard measure (like an airport security check) and efficiently checked in through the grand traditional style lobby of the Shangri-La. We were escorted to our pool facing Executive Suite on the top floor and were greeted with an abundance of sweets, chocolates, wine, high class tea, and even an enormous teddy bear, especially set up for my daughter. I am a Jade member but the quantity and quality of welcome gifts was beyond my expectations. The Executive Lounge one floor down from us was also facing the pool, with comfortable sofas and nice variety of food for both breakfast and evening Hors d'oeuvre. Location of the Shangri-La was convenient in the middle of the city and during my day tour trips, my wife and daughter opted to stay at the hotel to enjoy its nice pool and slides. Staff was friendly and attentive, with providing efficient responses over the reservation process and also during our stay. During our final night, the duty manager Edward called me to check in on our stay and Gabriele (GM) even followed up with a farewell email after our stay. Terrific guest experience! We hope everyone is keeping well at the Shangri-La Chiang Mai and look forward to staying here again in the future. SC
Enjoyable weekend and a good base to explore Chiang Mai.
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay at the Shangri La Chiang Mai. It is a relaxed resort hotel just outside the walls of Chiang Mai’s old town. From there it was easy to walk to just about everywhere. Check in was warm, quick and efficient. My room was overlooking the pool and I have to say, with the exception of the high rise residences building on one side, it was one of the loveliest pool views I have ever had, with a lot of greenery too. The room was big and spacious with a separate bath tub and shower. Shangri La’s own brand complimentary amenities are provided. Breakfast was served at the Kad Kafé and featured a varied buffet, an egg and noodle station along with a small menu of a la carte options. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Spa gets booked up quickly, as there was limited availability when I enquired during my stay, so I recommend booking early. Overall, this was a very pleasant and good value stay. I would happily return.
Nice hotel, nice room, convenient, but overcrowded
Positives Location – convenient to some areas of the city, walking distance to some areas also. Breakfast – good but pricey Rooms – nice, clean, amenities good Staff – very friendly and helpful Negatives: Crowded hotel, ask for a room away from groups if you are going alone. Otherwise no problems. Lots of Chinese tourists. I would stay here again. Notes: There is security at the hotel. You will be asked to check your bags and yourself upon entry every time.
5 Star Experience at the Shangri-la at Chiang Mai
The Shangri-La at Chiang Mai has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Located along the beautiful Thai mountains, there are a plethora of amenities at the hotel including a large pool with a water slide, a poolside bar for cocktails, an amazing restaurant, and a 5 star spa. The rooms were extremely spacious, mine having both a shower and a bathtub. There is a flat screen TV with a mini-bar in the fridge as well. The service was extraordinary. I had trouble getting my hairdryer working and called in for help. I was greeted in just 5 minutes with a new working hairdryer. The hotel also has an onsite doctor located on the ground floor that comes in starting at 9:00 am in the morning. I had broken my finger the day before, and was able to see a doctor without having to travel anywhere. Furthermore, the hotel has a free shuttle to and from the local hospital and is located just 3 minutes away. Your room comes with complimentary breakfast and free wifi throughout the hotel. It is a true representation of a 5 Star Hotel. Tip: I would definitely recommend going to the Spa. I chose to get a back massage and the masseuse did a wonderful job. The experience was done very professionally and extremely relaxing. Thailand is known for its outstanding massages and though it can be a bit expensive, this is a trustworthy place with high quality service.
