The Chedi - simply stunning
A beautiful resort which makes you feel zen from the moment you arrive in the huge tented lobby to the time you depart. The grounds are huge and beautifully manicured, with water features throughout. The grounds stretch down to the beach, which is not that great, but it doesn’t matter because there are three good sized swimming pools within the hotel. Our room was lovely. Lovely classical design with a high ceiling, dark wood, two sinks and a great shower. The generous number of soft drinks in the mini bar, together with beer, were complimentary. There was a good selection of tv channels and current movies on the TV and an exceptionally comfortable bed. There are a range of restaurants offering cuisine from around the world available. We opted for the beach restaurant - which offered sea food just 10 meters from the sea. The food and service were faultless. There was also a bar area offering shisha in the evening. The breakfast buffet was great - everything you need to start the day. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. Many thanks to the staff and particular mentions to Brian for looking after us as we lounged by the pool, Fouad, who looked after us at breakfast, and Channuka, who served us at the bar and was charming. A stunning resort in a stunning city. We could happily have spent a week here...
Memorable New Year ’s Eve
Unique property, we had the chance to enjoy and memorable Unique property, we had the chance to enjoy and memorable New Year ’s Eve, excellent service, good and tasteful. Excellent origination where clients fill comfortable, the mixture of life music themes and service made a great and unique experience absolutely to recommend, next time I will for sure spend my holiday in the Cheddi
Need a Zen experience
Imagine dining outside on a starry January night where lots of bunfires along the 103 mtr Long Pool perfects the scenery and the ocean creates the music of Mother Nature.. Everything at The Chedi is a joy for all senses... food, service, designs, people, tranquility .. no further words necessary ... It really felt like being part of and adventure and we returned with Zen like feeling in body and mind
Very poor rooms
I just checked in today at Chhedi expecting the world out of it given the raving reviews. No doubt the infrastructure is fabulous, but if ur paying USD 500 a night, one would expect half decent rooms. The rooms sizes are tiny, no balcony, no real sea view, queen size beds (an average tall person like me barely fits in...very uncomfortable), ordinarily done rooms (granite flooring, gigantic and uncomfortable pillows etc). As someone mentioned to me it's a place to be 'seen' but definitely not worth the money for the quality one receives. At USD 200 a night I would give it 4* but at USD 500 it's certainly not worth staying here.
Service, privacy, serenity. With excellent food!
An oasis within the city. Understated elegance that quietly calms you. Service that seems to anticipate. The best breakfast buffet ever, anywhere (our family group of seven included two children under 7-years and a professional chef, all who eagerly anticipated the buffet each of three mornings). Lovely pools to choose from depending upon your mood. The Chedi Club option is highly recommended; the additional benefits are well worth upgrading to this level. If in Muscat, this is the place to stay. No regrets.
