Speak to one of our experts now about this offer
Sitting right on a wildlife corridor, this bijou bolthole has front row seats to a natural masterpiece.
In Swahili, the word Tulia means "to relax". And relax you will. There’s a real sense of peace at this little lodge that’s set at the edge of Amboseli National Park; you’ve got space to spare, the sound of nature is your soundtrack and there’s a real back-to-wild vibe. We love that it’s on private land, rather than in the national park itself, as it shakes up the typical safari experience. Alongside the game drives in Amboseli, our top picks are the walking safaris, the night drives, the bush breakfasts and the sundowners. The wildlife watching doesn’t stop during your downtime: there’s a watering hole directly in front of the camp which is visited by the park’s iconic ‘big tusker’ elephants on their way from the springs to the swamps. Every moment here is served with a side of nature.
Why we love Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp
-
There are just 20 luxe safari tents, all with views over the savannah towards Mount Kilimanjaro.
-
The camp is set on private land adjacent to the national park so you can do walking safaris, night drives and sundowners.
-
There are two-bedroom family tents and the camp is securely fenced making it an excellent spot if for the whole crew.
-
You’ll arrive as strangers and leave as friends; the service here is genuinely warm, welcoming and totally personal.
Rooms
The tents are cosy, comfy and spacious but the real showstopper is the view: each of the 20 tents has a sweeping savannah vista topped off by a glimpse of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, Kilimanjaro. The Superb Tents set the standard with dark wood furnishings, an inviting double bed and a deck where you can chill and take in the beauty quite literally on your doorstop. For the added extra luxury of a private plunge pool, go for the Deluxe Tent, and if you are travelling as a group, be it family or friends, pick the Family Superb Tent that has a couple of bedroom areas and a covered living area.
Facilities
The Kili-meets-waterhole views continue during mealtimes as the covered ‘mess’ tent and open-air dining terrace. The food is a mix of local dishes and international favourites and there’s a real focus on creating dishes that suit you; if you have any special requests, just let us know and we can make sure you’re well fed and watered. For those special moments, secure a spot in the bush for a post-game drive breakfast, a traditional sundowner to raise a toast to your adventure, or a private, star-lit dinner.
What's Included
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant • Twice-daily 4x4 game drives in the national park • Park and conservancy fees
For some serious me time between African bush adventures, hot foot it to the spa for an invigorating deep tissue massage or a calming Swedish massage.
The vibe here is relaxed and low key but that doesn’t mean that children will be bored. The natural surroundings will become both their playground and their classroom. Hours can be lost watching the animals getting together around the watering hole and there’s so much to learn on a guided walking safari – they’ll talk about it for years to come. Additionally, you can book the family a private vehicle for your game drives, giving you all the best view possible and the chance to create some ‘just us’ memories together. The Superb Family Tents mean that you can all stay together but have your own space as there are two bedrooms, a living area that opens out to the bush and a furnished terrace.
