Total luxury 'camping'. Accommodation fantastic with everything provided. Even the laundry was done to perfection! Staff so friendly and welcoming that we felt part of a family. Guides so knowledgeable and looked after us so well we always felt safe. And loved the staff entertainment every evening. Would love to go back. Definitely one for the 'bucket list'.
Incredible Honeymoon experience
We spent two nights at Camp Okavango during our honeymoon and this was an experience we’ll never forget. We were looked after brilliantly from the first minute to the last. Our guide KT was great fun and taught us so much about the Delta. The boats are a great way to take in the environment and see such a variety of animals: elephants, hippos, big cats and tiny birds without disturbing them. Doing the guided walk - tracking buffalo and learning the secrets of the Delta was a real highlight and a refreshing departure from the game drives of other Safari experiences. The Camp was immaculate and filled with welcoming and charming staff, dedicated to looking after you with a smile. We booked C.O as a ‘once in a lifetime’ holiday, but we’ve already promised ourselves we’ll be back! Thank you to all the team for making our honeymoon so special.
Luxury in the delta
Fantastic accommodation and communal areas. Staff all professional, if a little aloof. Our guide Luckson was magnificent in helping us to explore the delta by Ali boat, mokoro and walking safari’s. Getting up close and personal with tiny reed bed frogs, watching elephants swim across water ways and walking alongside a herd of 400 Cape buffalo. The hippos were magnificent, many and easy to photograph, the three species of kingfishers were also plentiful, just trickier to snap! The bird watching was sublime, I thought the malachite kingfishers were going to be my favourite, but watching the golden weaver birds building their next was mesmerising. Seeing, hearing and photographing a giant eagle owl was just too good to be true!
Wonderful way to see the delta
Fantastic staff, magnificent accommodation, just a wonderful experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We had the most amazing experiences up close and personal with the animals. The walking safari was a must do. If you get a chance just go.
A delicious time at Okavango Delta
Camp Okavango. What a totally awesome way to experience this wonderful part of the world for the first time. From the moment the little plane touched down, my two nights there were an absolute treat. A friendly introduction from the team, a quick intro to where we were with some informative maps, the refreshing face towel, all meant that by the time we arrived at the main camp area a few minutes later the vibe was so friendly and exciting. The first impression was the awesome rustic bedroom with a bed so beautifully decorated it was almost too good to disturb! Camp Okavango is a great mix of play and relax; walking safaris, mokoro boat rides, motor boat rides, fishing, and just having our own chill time too by the pool, the bar, in the very comfortable lounges surrounded by beautiful picture books and history books of the area. At Camp Okavango you’re left wanting for nothing; all you ever have to do is ask. The food is delicious; an early morning fresh continental breakfast before the first activity, followed by a delicious nutritious brunch. An afternoon tea after some rest time, and a dinner under the stars. And of course anything we want from the bar, at any time. The cheeky monkeys and inquisitive baboons, the many birds, and giraffe and elephants in the distance, even some wild dogs. Hippos and crocs in the water, and information gathering and learning the whole time. A couple of days at Camp Okavango left me totally recharged, and wanting to learn more about the Okavango Delta. Can’t wait to come back to this part of the world.
