This cosy hillside lodge has breathtaking views over Lake Te Anau and is the perfect base for exploration of Fiordland National Park.

Perched on a hill with mesmerising views over rolling grass lands, sparkling waters and rugged mountain peaks, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more stunning setting for experiencing the iconic Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Fiordland is a dream destination for nature lovers and the architectural style of this welcoming lodge reflects the natural surroundings. The high ceilings and huge panoramic windows showcase the incredible views, while the earthy tones, tree trunk pillars, beautiful timber interiors and river stone fireplace bring the outside in. The warm staff go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as possible, and there is a fantastic choice of excursions available.

Te Anau has been dubbed the ‘walking capital of the world’ and the vast, untouched landscapes of the national park will have you itching to pull on your hiking boots. Book a guided nature walk on the renowned Routeburn Track or Milford Track and let the fresh mountain blow away the cobwebs. A cruise on Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound is the highlight of any stay in Fiordland. Not only will you experience enchanting scenery but you may also spot wildlife such as dolphins, fur seals and the rare Fiordland crested penguin. Other popular local activities include sea kayaking, bird watching, fly fishing and jet boating.

When it comes to dining there is an emphasis on fresh, seasonal flavours with produce sourced from local farmers, cheesemakers and other artisans. The evening menu changes daily and all meals are served overlooking Lake Te Anau. The magnificent scenery can also be enjoyed from the rooms which each offer views over the lake and either a balcony or access to the lawn. The traditional Log Cabins offer a secluded setting away from the main lodge and are split level. The Lodge Rooms are ground floor with large picture windows and the Deluxe Lodge Rooms are set on the first floor and offer superior views. The spacious and beautifully designed Executive Suite is the only one of its kind and it features a separate lounge with a fireplace, and a jet spa bath.
